Upgraded GPU

(RageSmirk) #1

Oh my god. I’ve just upgraded my GPU from HD Radeon 5770 to GTX 1060 3GB and man, the graphics are astonishing.
Still using old CPU, i5 750 @ 3.3GHz.
Resolution 1680x1050.
I get around 130FPS with everything on max.

I have SLI GTX970 and HAD AMD 8core shitty one and i had to run the game minimun graphics so i get decent fps at all times but then i got i7 7700k and POW max graphs and 90 - 170 fps at all times

Hell yeah dude, if you do in the future need to decide between a new GPU or CPU and you play DB alot go for the CPU.
DB relies heavily on the CPU compared to the GPU so something like an i5 8400 should give you a steady 180 FPS.

Yeah I want to upgrade my CPU too, but I’m waiting for the new CPUs from Intel.
Anyways, it’s good even with my old CPU.
Also saw that DirectX 9 Super preset isn’t as good as DirectX 11 Super preset.
On 9 it’s too glossy with uneeded blur, but on 11 it’s more elegant with the right optimization.
With my old GPU, DirectX 11 was bad. But now with the new one it feels more stable.

trying to reform as well?

I’m a good boy already ok, I just have to prove it

EDIT to stay on topic: CPU prices nowadays are pretty competitive because of Ryzen, I suggest maybe going for an AMD CPU if you have a lower budget as the new releases do not require a brand new motherboard to run them, thus making future upgrades cheaper.

Dirty Bomb is capped at 180FPS, I want to change it to 120FPS. How can i do it?
For anyone asking why, since I can get 120-160 FPS this fluctuation can cause stuttering.
I want an option for a FPS Limit like in Fortnite. Anyone can help?

Navigate to this folder:

Documents\My Games\UnrealEngine3\ShooterGame\Config

Open the ShooterEngine file, hit ctrl + f and search for bSmoothFrameRate, set it to TRUE and then change MaxSmoothedFrameRate (it’s located two lines lower) to the desired value. Save the file, open its properties and set it to read-only. Done.

Congratulations on your new hardware, by the way!

Thanks it works. No need for the Read Only though.
However I understood something, sometimes the FPS will dive to 90 FPS. This is because of my weak CPU.
Faster CPU with good Single Core Power would solve the problem but the FPS limit still helped somehow.
