Update on map progress ....

Thought I would give you guys some updated information on the current progress on the map that I have been working on … So far I have made the following changes to it, and there will be more …

Updates on “Angriff der Fabrik”

Goals to be completed
Goal 1: Make the map look more like a factory, actually more realistic period.
Goal 2 : Make the map more balanced for the teams [in progress]
Goal 3: Do something about the crappy lighting around the truck, which has been a problem ever since I first started the map and caused from the overhanging ledge.
Goal 4: Get the file size down to it’s bare minimum.

Updates:

  1. I clipped off the back area behind the truck where players could fall back into and get stuck.

  1. I added a skylight, mesh, and a fan to the ceiling of the Corridor entrance area.It’s hard to see the fan in these pictures since it is not moving, but when actually seeing it moving it feels more impressive…

  2. The constructable gate will be fully built when the game starts to make up for the fact that the Allied and Axis spawns are so close together.

  3. I have been experimenting with light shaders and have been able to write a few shaders to make it seen like there are some convincing light sources down in the lower Corridor region.

  4. The passage that goes around the Axis spawn after the Allies have captured the Corridor entrance will now have an Axis team door that can be destructable by both Ally Engineers and Covert-ops. The machine gun that is sticking out from the other side of a wall through a hole will be made into an Axis constructable and has to be built by an Axis Engineer before it can be used…

  5. I am getting rid of the ugly looking arrow signs and other other signs that distract from gameplay … Instead of the arrow signs I am placing a nice looking sign saying “Generator” with a circled arrow pointing in the direction towards the generator. I wanted to write “Hochspannungsgenerator,” but that is too big and the word for generator is the same in both languages, so I will keep it as “Generator.”

I plan on do more as well once I have accomplished these things, it’ll be that much more of an awesome map :slight_smile:

Acutally, I’ve decided to scrap the idea of releasing a suped up version of this map … I think I am going to take specific parts of the map and turn them into prefabs to make a similar map.
