[quote=“Sploosh;213825”]I just deleted my configs and started up the game. It seems like the input lag or whatever it’s called is gone. I’m not 100% sure. I’ll have to play some more, but the aiming and stuff feels better. My V-Sync is set to always off in AMD’s control center.
The graphical lag is still there though. Like the slow downs to 10 FPS. There’s also some stutters and small teleporting forward which is annoying, but I think the main issue is out of the way for me. After starting up the game, all of my settings were back to High like I originally had them over a year ago. Although my FPS wasn’t very stable because it would drop from over 100 to 30-60, it’s playing better than before so that’s good news.
There are some other problems that people have already mentioned like not being able to shoot, which showed up multiple times in one game for me. It can be solved simply by pressing Escape and then returning to the game.
Anyways, thanks Raziel! I appreciate it!

Glad we figured out the input lag stuff (hopefully).
Unknown about all the FPS issues, but we are investigating on this side!

I can confirm from personal experience that the FPS stutters/lag can be reduced by playing around with the Black Cipher process running in the background.
I got a program called Process Hacker 2, booted up Dirty Bomb, Alt-Tabbed out to Process Hacker 2, found Black Cipher, right clicked it and set the Priority to low and the Affinity to Core 0 only.
This has smoothed the game out completely for me and if there are stutters, they’re barely noticeable for me now

From what I’ve seen, closing BlackCipher in task manager reduces the hitching and slowdowns, but all 4 of my cores still run at a perpetual 100%, even in the pre-game lobby and menus.
For reference, I still get vast fluctuations from 15-130 FPS, and there’s still full-stop freezing and hitching, but it’s less common.
Well, I sure hope some kind of fix comes soon.
I’ve been maining Overwatch again (to my own disgust) but I can’t believe how many of our regulars have stopped playing Dirty Bomb in the last week. I can’t even run 5v5 customs any more here in Australia at nights now. More than 50% of our regulars have moved to other games in the last week (some back to OW, most back to CSGO, a few to other random games) and most of them are showing “Last played November 24” or something for Dirty Bomb - and these are all people who played DB for 4-6 hours a day religiously .
Even my team mate rage uninstalled the game last Thursday night and hasn’t touched it since solely because of the insane fps drops going down to 1-2 fps every 30 seconds or so. This is basically the whole reason I’ve basically stopped playing too, well that + the input lag thing.
It’s a real shame. Huge update showing lots of promise but the fps problems are so intense we’ve actually just lost more veterans. I think most of them have lost all faith. It’s a sad day hah. I can’t even recall how many people have PM’d me with messages like “I can’t even play Dirty Bomb now, too many frame drops” or “So much input lag and FPS spikes, I cba with DB right now it’s too frustrating” etc.
Ah well.
I’m bouncing in and out of the game and I’m F I G H T I N G hard for it… Looking deeper where Google can’t find things. Mate sais only remaining step is to see BlackCipher’s source code, sign a NDA, and find the recursive procedure call causing the stutter.
This is how it is set for AMD/ATI Radeon users
But also, you need to have the following checked for the game specific setting
Few of those steps are maybe over the top or redundant. But this is what I did and I got rid of the input lag, the stutters and freezes, and had a fps boost.
No. BlackCipher and NGS Anticheat are so terrible that you can literally close them through task manager and they don’t stop you from playing without them enabled. This is one of the reasons why cheaters are so prevalent.

what really?
i gotta try that
Ok if this is the fix, it’s actually retarded how well it works. I just played an hour solid with BlackCipher.aes closed in the task manager and I was getting 175-180 FPS constant all maps. I had absolutely 0 frame drops or spikes the entire time
With BlackCipher open my Dirty Bomb was reading something like 1,800,000K in the task manager and with it closed it was down around 800,000K
Like, wut?
Guys stopping the process of blackchiper proved to return my old FPS back and now i can enjoy beautiful maps with beautiful FPS
I can’t believe the game actually runs without its anti-cheat running lol…
Can we at least get confirmation that we’re not going to get banned doing this? I know hackers seem to play until they are reported 600 times, I’d just rather be ‘safe than sorry’. I’d like to see @RazielWarmonic opinion/thoughts on this.

welp i dont wanna get banned
I don’t like it but… I have to try it because I’ve done so much already and won’t stop at anything that could help me get back my enjoyment of Dirty Bomb…
How long I can play without BlackCipher is still in question… unless the Servers get infested with players using unfair advantage again.
When the Devs keep saying, “We’ve updated our Anti-cheat, we’re working on our anti-cheat” we know that the balance between hackers, and hack free games, is our computers being destroyed.
