Update Focused on Ranked Matchmaking

I don’t know if anyone else feels the same way, but I think that the best way to reinvigorate MM would be to attract as many people as possible to jump in and have ago. One possible way I can see this happening is if there is an update (possibly when season 1 begins) which is mainly focused on MM, possibly an event update where there would be special limited time rewards for taking part in ranked matches during the event. Hopefully then with more people playing, the Elo system would work better to give more balanced matches, which in turn would encourage more players to return to MM in the future. What do you guys think?

Absolutely, I would even argue that they are already paving the way for that.
The recent changes to multiple mercs seem to be focused for the competitive side, like the sparks nerf, the upcoming thunder buff this evening etc.

Give people damn rare skins with good loadouts, and comp will be filled.

Yes, I would agree that ranked 5v5 matchmaking should be the primary focus of a future update.

It should have

  • A 2nd generation with access to different weapons and augments
  • A new rarity and new skins for each rarity
  • Merc specific cases, kinda like what we see with the Expert Case A, B, C, but more specific. Like a Skyhammer Case, or a Fragger case.
  • Trinket cases, or a Trinket Store, where you can buy trinkets with Ranked Mode Credits. Cheap obviously, not terribly expensive.
