Why is Vassili 50,000 credits and Aimee is only 40,000?
Shouldn’t Vassili be the cheaper since he is a lot better for beginners and Aimee be more expensive because she requires more map knowledge and is harder to play?

I do believe Turtle is just based on him being recent, Kira, Vassili and Phantom on difficulty

Why not just make some of the much older mercs 5.99/30,000 credits instead?

Keeping Turtle, Aimee, Thunder and Phantom at 50,000/9.99 for being the newest.

Splash damage simply made Fragger a 50k/10 dollar merc on the initial release because he was so effective at killing at the start and that he wasn’t useful as a team-player besides killing, every subsequent merc was 50k/10 dollars for no real reason, I was just thinking that every Assault would’ve just be priced like Fragger for their niche purpose.

why not make a 3 merc bundle where we can choose from the 3 mercs and bonus items or a discount?

I like the approach that mercs who have a highly demanding kit or have little impact in unskilled hands require more credits.

I don’t care that much about rhino, because you will know how hard it is to play rhino against players who actually shoot in your massive head.

Aura is indeed the easiest to use effectively (you don’t have to watch out actively for heals)

I like this pricing idea. Although I think Phoenix and Stoker could be a little cheaper, just so they’re a bit more accessible.

I see what you mean about beginners seeing it as pay to win. What is the point of the tiers? I would have saved up to buy a more expensive one expecting it to be better. Seems like it would make way more sense to have all mercs be the same price, but unlock them to buy by doing special missions. The mercs wouldn’t look better or worse, but beginners wouldn’t be allowed to buy harder mercs until they got a little more experience.

The special missions could be related to the merc, like:
-as an objectives specialist plant/repair five times to unlock the “easy” engineer
-plant/repair 10 times from 0% to 100% without stopping for harder ones
-kill 5 people in one match with explosives and have an accuracy >30% to unlock Nader
-disable EV once and supply 10 people with ammo in one match to unlock an “easy” support

When a beginner can’t control Redeye he’ll constantly be smoking out his own team and we can’t clear our own team’s smoke. It makes a Vas beginner doing just nothing seem blissful.

All of this is of little consequence in the long term, its easy to afford any of the mercs that you want so long as you actually enjoy playing the game as you’ll play often enough to rake in the credits.

I’ve easily spent at least 2~3 times as much credits as would be needed to buy all the mercs. Even when new mercs are announced, I’ll still easily be able to grind out enough credits to buy them on the day of launch, assuming I don’t already have enough credits sitting around anyway.

Credits in DB are easy.
