Unplayable FPS Drops

(Kakutov) #1

I am having terrible frame drops. I run DB at 60-70 most of the time, but after few moments I experience drop of fps to about 20. Turning on and off thread sync didnt help. Dont know what to do. Do you have any suggestions?
My PC:
Intel Core Quad Q6600 @ 2,4GHz
AMD HD5850 1GB
8GB RAM Memory
Windows 7 64-bit

It’s because your system uses 6 year old components.
This game needs nearly double the specs of what you have to reliably run at high FPS. I’m surprised it even got to 60 FPS in the first place!

1,5/10
you can do better

You’re right.
Q6600 released january 14th, 2007 (9 years old)
AMD HD5850 released around 2009 (7 years old)

Dirty Bomb needs a pretty strong CPU, even my i5 @ 4Ghz struggles with it.

I’ve been playing DB 4 months ago and everything was fine.

Dirty Bomb Recommended Requirements
CPU: 2.0 GHz Quad Core or better
CPU Speed: Info
RAM: 3 GB
OS: Windows 7 (64-bit)
Video Card: 512 MB - GeForce 7800 GTX or better
Sound Card: Yes
Free Disk Space: 5 GB

I am still waiting for a reply of someone whos not trolling.

But okay, just stick your head into the sand and keep thinking your Pentium II can run this game.

@Matuno dude why the heck you keep talking BS?
Lots of ppl are using this CPU. Here’s an example:

Is it when you enter combat or whenever a explosion goes off on your screen? I may have a similar problem that happened recently that I can’t solve.

I don;t know exactly. I guess it happens pretty randomly. Have to check it though.

The problem is that the game is not fully optimized, and yeah i know that it’s still on BETA. If you look at the forums, reddit, youtube coments, DB steam forums, you’ll see that a lot of people with an i5 or i7, are unable to play the game. Some ppl play, others not.

It’s a shame that every update manage to break it even more, every update the game runs worse than before.

It’s sad because Dirty Bomb is such a good game.

And remember, don’t feed the troll. =D

You’re not alone. After a certain patch, the game is no longer playable for me either. I have huge lag and sound lag as well. We might not have the best gaming set up but who always has the money for it instantly? Let’s be real here. Anyways, my game used to play just fine, but I think it’s getting to the point where you need to upgrade for this game on any new patches.

6 months ago i was playing DB at 40 fps constant with

  • Dual Core 2.9Ghz
  • AMD HD5750 1GB Vapor-X
  • 4Gb RAM
  • Windows 7 32bit

Now this machine run DB at 30-40 fps with drops to 20 …
( Hopefully i have a new config )

I am also having this problem since the last maintenance. DB would run at about 60-80 FPS and now I get random FPS drops to about 20ish.
