Unofficial "Empty Server List" Fix

As somebody previously stated why not implement a way to get an etkey from etkey.org and kill 2 birds with 1 stone?

That will take away all the dependencies ET currently has.

i used the exe and no servers showing up still. and it wont let me edit the host file. what m i doin wrong? i just copy the exe into et folder right?

^ Maybe your shortcut is using another ET-install?

im using a custom installer that came with an etkey and pb update could that have anything to do with it? when i move and replaced the exe it just made the screen show all the f|a servers on the right hand side but no list

I modified my hosts file, but no servers showing up. here a /condump:

Resolving etmaster.idsoftware.com
etmaster.idsoftware.com resolved to 91.220.53.73:27951

yo alex i cant get it working either. i added that line in the server config. its at the top of the rest of them i was gona make a // somewhere but was just gona tell u tomorow so the server should show up in the new list when u restart server

Oopsy… accidentally quit the master, motd was still running. It’s up again, need to be a lot more precise when pressing control+c

I am not sure if you are smart enough to understand that what you do is wrong. Also can you please remove your download links ? There is no general agreement so far about this masterserver from paul.

Just modified my host file and list shows up no problem. (not that many servers though at the time)
No need to modify et.exe guys just host file will do.
You all know it’s not about guys like you that play this for long time and know how to fined your servers.
it’s about rest of players that are new to this game and not computer wiz. If ID kill this server list no matter what you do
it’s end of game for most and only core players may stay until the end.

Is there any information from id Software about their master list? Is it closed for ever? Anything? Badman, is there any news?

yes it is the main problems for new ET players
the old ones know prolly now how to find the servers , splatterladder, ettrackbase or with a servers browser
at least they can use google …

we are editing the tool…so in v 2 version all can patch to 2.55 and 2.60b with new et.exe and to original so the old et.exe.if the old masterserver comes back…all with etkey maker

Could be an option, just hope that it’ll stay on next time Mine will stay on anyway, and sync with the real one as well.
