Unlocking things questions

(DouglasDanger) #1

How do unlocks work?

Do you need to unlock everything for each character? Does each character level separately, like in an RPG? If I have a character I use a lot, and he is level 19, can my character who is level 6 use the stuff I unlocked with the level 19 character?

Or is it based on your psn/xbl ID? If I unlock the Rhett rifle with character A by doing challenge x, character B can use the Rhett? Does this work like Black Ops, were I level up, and it affects all of my characters?

Will I only do the tutorials once, and have it affect my psn, or will I need to do it for each character?

Things from challenges (guns for example) go for every character.
Abilities only go to the character you are leveling.
But I think clothing was also for every character (you get it by leveling up).
Each character levels separately.

I could be wrong tho, let’s hear from the experts.

Sorry to piggyback your thread Douglas, but:

I don’t recall seeing anywhere if there were specific class restrictions for weapons? I know about the body-type weapon limitation, but was there ever any mention of having class-only weapons as well?

I don’t think so. That was their whole plan - to make the guns restricted to body-type, not classes.

I concur, concordantly.

I thought that other characters can use anything you’ve unlocked, including skills?

You really don’t unlock skills, you purchase them. Well, they will have level requirements and prerequisites to buy them, but you really don’t unlock them.

Unlocking in this sense means guns, gun attachments and clothing. At least that’s what I believe.

I believe what WeeohhWeeohh believes.

well at least in this one particular sense.

Good description.

As far as weapons being llimited by class, I guess you can say there are some, but any class can use any gun within his body type restrictions.

Things like Mines, Molotov’s, Satchel Charge, Cortex Bomb, Turrets, etc. are really weapons but they are obviously restricted to certain classes (I think these are all abilities, but they’re still technically weapons).

So it is some combination of Black Op’s profile-based method and an RPG’s character-based method?

good point. there are some class specific weapons, but they’re also abilities for classes
