It’s a convenience if there is an alternative, more cumbersome way of picking the lineup you want, like manually changing your squad composition while in the lobby. But as it is now where you can’t do that, extra slots = more tactical flexibility. If you have to pay for that, you’re walking into the realm of pay2win…

I can live with limited pre-defined squads, but then give me back the ability to change my current squad’s composition in the lobby between games.

Ah right, sure in between games should be changeable.

It also depends on how the ranked matches are supposed to be played. Right now it’s just the conventional ‘churn through maplists on a server’ fps setting.

But if you want ranked games to mean anything then the sessions should be isolated events rather than a constantly on-going affair.

That means:

  • You (or your group) are in the game menu
  • You select ‘enter game’ to join the qeue
  • You’re selected with a group of others (based on matchmaking ELO) to play the stopwatch (or ADDA maybe)
  • You play the game
  • You win or lose the session
  • The session is disbanded and you (or your group) are back in the game menu again

This is how MOBAS and WOT and RTS games do their ranked ladders and this how they can cater to a 24/7 competitive league play.

Any other option is severely watering down the meaning of ranked ladders. You simply can’t hold a meaningful ladder competition by sticking to one server where people are dropping in and out.

play proxy a lot, and got cards for other mercs - not a single proxy card!

make it

  1. character weight. more engies you play more engie cards you get.
  2. make it 2 option-choose. after the lotto, you get not 1 card, but 2, of which you can choose 1 your card. like in Heroes of Might and Magic treasure boxes.

with my amount of playtime, that i have now. i cannot get a card, that i actually can test ingame, let alone get a chance to compare it with another card, on the same merc

I also wish it was structured this way. I play Skyhammer/Vasilli 90% of the time and have not got a card for either yet.

It would be cool if I get Loot Crates with content for the mercs I’m playing. Have opend 4 or 5 crates and didnt get a single think for one of my mercs (Sawbonez, Skyhammer, Vasiliy)

I got a uncommon Vassili with a grease gun… It rocks!

Played this patch for many many hours and I am still just level 14 or 15… Just saying seems to take awhile…

Two patches and not a single card for Bushwhacker :frowning: Currently 6 for Proxy (I do use), 3 for Aura (I don’t use). Got one for Skyhammer that lets you throw nades back apparently :smiley:

The card system is being updated slightly to give people more control over what they earn and when. Once that update has taken some reasonable shape and been agreed in principle among the team I’ll try to write another dev blog to update you folks.

Quite like that idea, but it could be open to abuse by two teams repeat match-fixing to upgrade all their crap cards.

Make it so you can only do it when you are in a ranked match; that would solve the problem.

I had an idea that could help get cards for Mercs you like to play, and help with the curret Merc leveling system.
How abt if at certain Merc levels you unlock cards for that merc, till you unlock a legendary card at the final level.

Maybe something like this?
Levels
2-4 Aug Slots
5. Common merc card
6. Taunt
7.Uncommon card
8.Taunt
9. Rare card
10. Taunt
11.Different Merc card art.
12. Legendary Card
