uninstall and reinstall Try fix

Hello everyone! I have some questions and I hope you can help me, I want to uninstall and reinstall Dirty Bomb to see if I can fix some problems

The problems I have are:
The game randomly freezes The frames go from 100+ to 0 for a few seconds and then returns to normal, the problem is if it happens in the middle of a fight obviously I lose.

but I have a question, if I uninstall Dirty Bomb and install again I lose my progress ?? I know it’s an online game, but I prefer not to take risks and ask! thanks for the help!!

Hey,
No, you do not lose anything. It is bound on your steam account, so if you reinstall or install on different computer (with same steam account) you get to keep all progress, mercs, loadout cards, credit… Basicly everything.

Edit: oh, just make sure you backup your cfg file if you have change your settings :slight_smile:

Eduardo, i had the same issues as you (and then some), and found that disabling the steam overlay for dirty bomb helps with the freezing and gave me some more fps on certain maps.

To do this right click dirty bomb in steam, click properties, then uncheck the box that says “enable the Steam Overlay while in-game”.

Let me know if reinstalling helps though first ; )

Also I always validate the game files after every update just to be sure maybe try that?

Thank you! good idea! and I tried disabling the steam overlay already reduced freezing but still happens, much less, but it happens, just want to try because I have doubts about the hit detection, sometimes it seems that I fire the entire magazine in someone and not get damage … And sometimes when I am in the middle of a fight I die after I take cover, I can see in the post-die view that the bullet than kills me, just goes through the wall… I want Also see if that resolves

My PC is It is old, but is enough to play not in max of course and the Ping 50-70ms

PC:
CPU: AMD Phenom II 395
GPU: AMD 6870
MB: Asus Crosshair IV
RAM: 8GB DDR3 1600

Windows 10 64bits
and the latest drives installed

I just reinstalled Dirty bomb and still freeze and I think is worse :frowning: … but the hit detection is much better! :wink:

I dont know what to do… That freezes are crazy I try turn off the steam overlay but the freez continue

Yeah the hit detection has been a bit jerky for me since the update too, gonna reinstall now and report back on that.

As for your issue since you are running Windows 10

Here is a thread all about Dirty Bomb and Windows 10, and ways to get help, might be worth going through it with a fine tooth-comb and seeing if anyone else has the issue you have described and hopefully a solution will be there too, Let us know if you do solve your issue and how you solved it, if i come up with anything or find any info on the issue and how to fix ill post again in this thread.

I know this is a dumb question, but any idea on how to reinstall dirty bomb? i’ve never really had any problems that made me come this far
