Underwater areas?

(TheStrangerous) #1

Should new maps have a new level of depth, by adding underwater areas and additional secondary objectives located there?

Many old FPS games had underwater, but sadly this element had it’s drought in modern shooters (though as far as I saw, some new shooters do have it).

Defend the Reef!
Don’t let them extract the oil!
Repair the Submarine and finally don’t let them deliver the Treasure chests!

Why wasn’t that on April Fools?

(Mrarauzz) #4

Why tho? It’ll just add more unecassy parts to maps. And the way this games mobility works it seems like a disadvantage to go into water and maneuver around the map that way.

Underwater parkour.

And imagine EV replaced by a submarine.

But what would poor Stoker do? His molotovs would be useless underwater, but then again, artillery is useless indoor.

dude we are not in pokemon where water = no fire there is in real life chemicals that burns in water there is even chemicals that burns at the contact of water. And Stoker’s molotov sure doesnt look like the standard gasoline molotov

(JRMC) #9

Those kind of chemicals may allow for fire on the surface of the water but I find it difficult to obtain the same outcome under the water, although it may still be possible.

(nokiII) #10

Ever heard of magnesium? And that’s just the most commonly known one…

(JRMC) #11

Yeah, I know, now apply that to flammable grenades for underwater purposes.

Not to burst your bubble, but Stoker’s molotovs are made out of white phosphorus.

Which can actually burn underwater.

(BananaSlug) #13

@TheStrangerous i am almost sure that his Molotovs have napalm inside. you wont stop the fire!

(BananaSlug) #14

whoops there is other problem, try to throw thing like that underwater

(TheStrangerous) #15

Who said you couldn’t walljump uderwater?

Who said it has to be realistic? Projectiles could have their own physics, immune to underwater pressure.

Finaly a map where I can’t get sniped as water slows down bullets

(Jaso) #17

like good ol’ Oasis (ET)

(SereneFlight) #18

Flooded Underground confirmed… and bullets are useless… Molotov? LOOOOOLLLLL… Rhino? yup, he totally won’t sink.

(watsyurdeal) #19

Please no

(Jostabeere) #20

Even though it might be interesting, I highly doubt SD will ever do this. Redesigning all weapons, abilities, models and animations just for a map or two? Sorry, probably never gonna happen.
