Unbalanced , and shuffle not working

(Jostabeere) #21

@GatoCommodore

So the playerbase in DB is small. Let’s use that as an excuse. Your suggestion is not doing anything, allowing the small portion of high-level, extremely good players stomp noobs and waiting for DB miraculously getting a lot of players?
That ain’t gonna happen sweetcheeks. A lot of negative reviews that aren’t stupid or made by stupid players, (hurr durr hax every match by half of the players) address the matchmaking issue.
And if “Cobalts” are making smurfs, place them in different teams. So atleast both teams have even odds of winning, unlike now where the game places new players in a lobby in one team and then the other, creating a 50% chance of high-skilled players end up in the same team.
Or spread them between teams in the first place. Force them to switch teams.
Most high players “do not care for wins” anyway. They should not complain getting switched to the losing team if the game will not be a 15 minutes defense on rnd 1 and a 2 minutes 2 objectives attack on rnd 2 and actually a “game”, right?
I see it so often. 1 player who is level 100+ alone can keep a bad team in their spawn.
In such cases I just run around the map, try to shuffle and do not help the meatgrinder.
It would be so easy for the game to take that one player, and replace him with the lowest enemy player, so the team could get out of the spawn and maybe get 1-2 objectives before the match ends.
But no. The game has to care for the minority of high-skilled people and give them meat to stomp on. Right?
People like Nisse or N8o were always the issue. (Just to name a few negative examples I came across many times and not just once) They either play with their high-skilled friends in one team, or stomp alone.

Edit:
As I was writing this I played this match.
I joined it with the team having 5 players and enemy having 7 players.
opicr0n and another lvl 79 already showing by the score they’ll run this game. Not giving half a damn about one of them switching.

And see for yourself how it ended.

We were held in our spawn for 15 minutes. Did not even plant a single time. And as I mentioned, only got arrogant stuff back when our whole team and me complained about that crap.
The game could have put the lvl80 player in our team by force. And we might’ve done anything with 3 people who are higher than 20 against that single high-level in such a case.
But the game and seemingly SD rather cares about people with much higher skill ending up in one team, giving them some points and frustrate the rest.
This is poor balance, and this is the biggest point that ruins this game.
Not slow development. Not fresh-released mercs having non-fuctioning broken mechanics.
Not the lack of communication. This is what ruins DB for me and many other people.

And I am seriously mad about this.
P.S. An Ukrainian game that I play from time to time with a daily playerbase of sub-1K manages to do better balance despite having 5 hardcoded tiers of level you can play at.

good job you debunked your own theory.

what happen if there’s 3 high level? You want to keep auto shuffling the poor guy who keeps getting good score? Is winning even a thing anymore at this point?

forced shuffle is not really fun in practice. I was there when TF2 has auto shuffle and its not fun at all. All your progress thru the match instantly thrown out of the window.

making high levels look like the bad guy because they play the game longer than the low levels, really? Somehow if the level 100s dont exist the game will be a better place?

your implied solution is to isolate the high levels on hardcoded tiers so they are getting hard times getting matches? why not quit the game altogether at level 40 because after that people will hate you for being experienced in the game?

me and my clan gripes in this game is the high amount of low levels cant even shoot straight that ruins matches because they just run around playing rush the heavily defended lane and then they went over to the forum, say the high level in the other team is stacked, ruins matches because they are better than everybody.

i have multiple account just because this. When i use my account with low level, people dont whine because they get to win.

But when they lose, i see my name on top of the score board in some guy screenshot put in some forum with caption like “wow game is very balanced”

Why do people always think everyone wants a free win? I don’t give a fuck if I win a pub match. What’s the benefit? Nothing. The point is that nobody wants to be stuck in the spawn without a single plant. There should at least be an equal amount of noobs on each side and not lvl 100+ one side and on the other team noobs only.

D0mex just posted the same problem in ranked mode. He was in several matches 1 gold player that constantly had a bronze or silver team and on the enemy team there were e.g. 3 cobalts and rest silvers. How is that supposed to be a balanced match? Is that too hard to get?

There is almost no way to carry all these beginners against a squad of high lvls.

Please explain how people are supposed to enjoy this?

@GatoCommodore Debunking what?
I suggest an even spread of equally high players on both teams unlike now.

It is a commonly known fact how the game fills matches. 1 team (I forgot attackers or defenders) have a priority when the teams have equal number of players.
So if we have a 4v4 with one team having the priority and, let’s say, a high player or 2 already, the next potentual high will be auto-assigned to the same team instead of the game seeing that one team already has a carry and putting him into the weaker team.

I also do not see how an auto shuffle will throw your progress out. If you stomped a team for 6 minutes and got 10K points, you keep them if you join the team that you stomped. You do not lose any personal progress. You might lose, but that was your fault as a player when you decided to stomp the team in their spawn instead of defending an objective.
I never stated that 100+s are bad guys on paper. I stated my personal experience with high people. Besides the obvious good players like Faraleth, who are fair at any point, I came across 1 single one high-skilled player who switched to the team that was stoped by him.
It was ragnar.

The vast majority just doesn’t give a damn. If you ask them to balance it out, they say game is balanced/levels do not matter and so on, while sitting on their 3-5x points of enemies team.
If you complain about balance, you’re instantly a crying noob.
And every single one of them excuses it with: “if noone said a thing about bad balance or asked me to switch, I would have switched. But you said it’s unfair, so I won’t switch.”

I have more than 160 hours in the game, at the beginning of the game when there were small rooms everything was fine, but then the balance was gone!
there are such screenshots and I still have a splash damaj it seems to me anyway!
to make separate rooms for 60+ levels to players, it will be interesting for them to play there themselves! Make 50-level rooms for medium players and 20-levels for beginners!
auto balance !!! splash damage does not know this word!

Google Translate

exactly , and that’s what happens every time in public matchs

The ironic thing here, is I never once felt like I was stuck in spawn. My issue has always been that I seem to be the only one ever doing anything. Whether it’s killing, reviving, healing, planting, spotting, whatever, it feels like I’m always the one trying to contribute, and everyone else is half assing.

And this is vindicated when I look at the board, where I see I am top of my team, even when I feel like I am having the worst day, and playing terrible and or disappointed in myself.

This is why I don’t understand match making, because I fail to see how taking numbers from a number of matches is going to somehow result in me playing with people who actually are on the same page as me, and want to win. Vs those who just screw around until the last minute.

I have never seen any game resolve this problem, not one. The only solution is mic chatter, and given how often I will speak, and get no reply, to me the issue is the players and the community as whole, NOT the match making or whatever Algorithms SD has to balance their games.

so you would try to extinguish Fire with Oil even thou its useless but not doing it its useless too? great logic, top notch.

Also Games aren’t unblanaced like i said, Players are just so horrible bad, thats all.

(FishRolls) #30

I think I would have a better chance of good matchmaking with the server browser.

(ismainau) #31

now it starts happening every match , that the game became so boring .
we can’t move from the spawn , we can’t plant , or we loose in 1 or 2 minutes , unless you play with the high level team …
Conclusion : uninstalled the game ! worst unbalanced game ever seen ! won’t recommend it
