since the update jan 11th when they took out dickensday i havent been able to start dirty bomb. when i launch it prompts a window with unable to start game (unknown error). i have verified game cache. anyone else experiencing this or have any fixes?

havent had any changes or updates to my antivirus. i played 2 nights ago then updated db the next day and was unable to launch.

Yea it could still be the antivirus breaking it, even if it didn’t have an update itself, because a game update might now be providing a false positive match in your antivirus to an existing pattern.
The easiest way to test would be something like:
- Disable antivirus (or add exception for DB folder, personally I prefer to just disable it for testing purposes to be absolutely sure it’s not doing something weird)
- Verify game cache
- Launch game
If it does work with antivirus disabled your options are:
- Add exception for DB folder (as above)
- Use a different antivirus (or none at all)
- Report the issue to Nexon and go play another game for a few months whilst waiting for the next patch which may or maynot fix the problem
If it still doesn’t work with antivirus disabled, then make sure you’ve done the classic turn it off and on again (not resume from hibernate/sleep), then if it’s still not working then post your log file to pastebin or similar.

Additionally, if it turns out to be your antivirus:
Most antivirus companies allow you to report false positives. They can fix the issue on their end, probably faster than SD will issue an update for DB.
