Ultimate Starter Pack vs Starter Pack - What gives?

Earlier int he closed beta I decided to buy the starter pack for $19.99. A couple cases, a few Mercs, and 35,00 credits. Seems good.

Now, all of a sudden there is an “Ultimate” starter pack for $22.49 - 5 Mercs, one of which I originally paid 50,000 credits for, 50,000 bonus credits, 2 elite cases…

Even at the $29.99 price tag, that case is worth the money much more than the regular starter pack.

Is there not any kind of incentive for players who supported the game earlier in the process? Or is it just a ploy to get more money out of those who have already paid real money for a “free” game?

It’s for people who haven’t bought the starter pack to buy. Companies tend to add incentives like DLC’s and such into their games as time passes. If you already own the starter pack you are pretty well covered and the Elite cases are only worth the extra cost if you value cosmetics.

I’d argue that the original starter pack was way better value for money.

By this time you already have enough to make loadouts on par with those elite cases, and 10$ for 15k credits is pretty steep.

As long as trading isn’t in the game the real value of elite cases or case/loadout card shenanigans in general is absolutely 0$.

The value is it makes me feel tingly on the inside.

Although I would say being able to trade it would be cool. I have something like 180 silvers. I know I have a lot of people’s favorite cards. I would like to give them it.

Seems a bit pointless for players that have been around a while. I can see the value for new players, but I already have Sawbonez and Vassili unlocked, so I would rather just have the credits to spend on other mercs instead.

If you already have a merc in the pack, are the credits you spent refunded? @MissMurder

no they aren’t.

Hopefully new type of merc bundles will be available soon.
