Two things Paul Wedgwood promised that I can't find

Lol, what?

Subtitles seem pretty necessary if you’re going to have a game with any lick of story in it.

(fearlessfox) #22

I tell you what else is clliche and overdone: deaf people.

(Bakercompany) #23

Subtitles should be a given for the hearing impaired.

I really wish I knew about no stat tracking in game and no different game modes what so ever before I pushed it so much to hundreds of COD and BF players.

And the campaign is garbage. I wish someone could prove me wrong, but you can’t.

(PhilipOmnis) #24

It isn’t garbage, but isn’t really any good. Any campaign is durable when you’re in the right mindset. I started the game with a clear head and enjoyed [what little] storyline there was. I even accidentally entered a game and heard a cutscene spoiler and still managed to enjoy the campaign.

I think (no offense) people like you, Baker, are making things even shoddier than the mediocre game that this is by jamming your negative propaganda in every post you make >.< And for the OP, your title has negative connotations but I do agree with your annoyance.

If it’s not constructive criticism, and you’re just talking ‘garbage’, just hush up.

The forum promised a staff post. Maybe it needs to appear like once before, I’ll be waiting.
But yeah, first one was already explained. I’m kind of indifferent about the second one, hopefully soon enough there will be no rank restrictions at all because everybody will be maxed out.

Already said, but I’ll add my voice.

I know for a fact the “XP share” option was removed, and that was because they felt it was silly and unfair for someone to be able to level up a character they weren’t even playing as - you can respec and recustomise the character you’re already using easily enough.

As for the high-level characters in low-level games, I never actually heard that one coming from a credible source - I saw people saying it was in, and I saw people saying it wasn’t in later, but I never saw anyone provide a source coming from the devs either way, so I can’t really say for certain what happened with that one. it seemed like a cool idea, but I think it would be too difficult to implement, because if someone took heaps of lower-level abilities, they’d be able to keep them and still be overpowered for the low-rank game.

At the same time, it gives you incentive to play a maxxed out character without feeling like you’re missing out on XP. Seeing “0 points” after every match with my level 20 feels a bit empty (not on the scoreboard, but on the end of match results). And respeccing is a pain, since if I respec at level 20, I lose my rank 5 abilities until I gain 35,000 XP to get them back.

I chose my words carefully to try and avoid readers drawing negative inferences. Sorry if you read into that in a negative way.

(ju5t_bl4z3) #29

Only a higher rank can invite a lower rank.

(Bakercompany) #30

I’m actually happy they removed the xp share. Its easy enough to level and plenty of fun doing so. Just have fun with each class. Reminds me of Transformers: WFC, I loved all 4 of its classes like I do in Brink. I think they have just enough flavor to make them distinct and fun without distracting from the core gameplay that is the excellent shooter mechanics.

If we’re talking about linguistics, mentioned probably has more neutral connotations than “promised”. But whatever.
I honestly don’t get how people can call this game mediocre. I thought that either you got it or you didn’t. Does it not suit the ‘hardcore’ crowd?
