Two long-standing bugs need to be fixed

  1. The auto-death on revive… This is insanely frustrating to be revived by a healer only to die instantly for no reason. Even if someone is shooting at you while you are getting up, there is a window that you cannot take any damage…so you aren’t being insta-gibbed from that. The game is automatically killing you. And I have to assume this is reflective on your K/D ratio. It happens several times per match.

  2. The profile accuracy…I have a thread open about this and I know its probably on the lower end of the priority list but come on. How difficult is this one to fix?

There is a window between receiving the paddles/REVIVR and standing up where you can still be hurt(and thus finished/gibbed). The invul doesn’t start immediately anymore, so you can certainly be killed at that point.

This changed was implemented to decrease the strength of revives overall.

I don’t understand the need to decrease the “strength” of revives. What imbalance impact did this have on the game? It is now more frustrating to get revived and instantly die.

Imagine if a Sparks with quick charge, could instatly revive an enemy that you killed as soon as the body starts to fall off, over, and over, until you die

But I think thats different than if you are actually laying on the ground waiting for a revive (for even several seconds) and then receive a revive. I think there are ways around the scenario you are saying without keeping this insta-gib mechanic.

There really isn’t.
The get-up time implementation was the way they fixed it.

Did they look into if you have been dead for X seconds( say ~2) then this instagib mechanic can apply…if you’ve been laying there for more than ~2 seconds then you can’t be instagibbed upon revive?

I addition to the revive “bug” / “mechanic”…what about profile accuracy? I know SD has said “we are working on it”…but its been many months. How difficult can this be? And I apologize, I don’t mean to seem like some uninformed tech-noob…I actually work with statistics all day long. Just curious if the problem has been at least identified.

I’ve got video of not being shot and being instantly killed on revive. I just assumed it was already a recorded bug since it happens fairly often. So it’s definitely a thing.

Thank you. And I definitely see that too. My friend and I play DB a lot, especially lately, and love it…a lot of laughs. But the other night he got audibly pissed when the insta-gib-on-revive kept killing him and he is not someone who gets vocally annoyed. So i was like “yeah, its a bug or something for the past few months…”

Heres to hoping both of the issues are nearing a resolution, or at least identifying the problem.

Yeah, I’ll go look. I’ve got a few examples I know that are sitting within normal vids on youtube.

However, this isn’t very common. At least not for me. Maybe once every few matches. If it’s happening to your friend constantly they they are probably confusing the gib window on a revive with this bug. There is a window where you can be gibbed even after being revived before invincibility kicks in. The exact time frame is in some patch notes from a while back.

However, I’ve got video of nobody shooting me and me getting revived but it acting like I was gibbed by somebody instead. Similar to that Sparks bug a while back where she could gib friendlies via headshots. I just need to track down the couple somewhat recent instances of it happening.

I wonder if the damage from paddles(however small) is some how hitting you as a “revived” player thus killing you.

On the note about not being invulnerable for X amount of time when revived…I could swear that the person being revived doesn’t take any damage when they are getting up while being shot by me.
