alright i was looking down the feeds for both twitter and facebook for DB. what is with all the salt. not to say i have not gotten salty at a few people but still its always the same stuff " stop doing this and make new maps or content". is like facebook and twitter that bad or is it that they all get kicked from the forums. i dont know its a pain and a let down to see people post that stuff. maybe some insight from the forums staff might help or someone that works on the DB FB or twitter ?

I question it too, there was a tool on FB who started shittalking the game on someone’s artwork. Why would you ever be as big of a cunt to do that?

Some people just have to be negative about something. This could be because they themselves have been put down again and again over and over again when they were younger. negativity tends to produce more noticeable negativity.

Some people just want to be salty. They have misplaced anger and don’t know how to behave when there aren’t typical social restrictions placed on them since they are partly anonymous over the internet. And some of those people wouldn’t care anyway. And then there are the trolling types and even groups who intentionally try to start issues to drive people out and cause mayhem and then go back to their troll forum and show how upset they got people. I honestly had no clue the latter thing existed until a few years ago when a friend of mine showed me that he used to be a part of one of these groups and showed me their forums. It was sickening…even more than the community forums for people who want to cheat (and those two groups intersect a lot too).

In a lot of situations only angry people really feel like they have motivation to post. A lot of happy people don’t. I’d wager a lot of people came to this forum because they were unhappy on some level about something. I know I came here originally because I couldn’t set loadout cards as favorites. Up until that point I didn’t really feel the need to post since I was pretty happy.

It’s a common psychological thing and negativity, a lot of time, can easily stack up and turn a place like FB, steam forums, here, reddit etc. toxic. That’s why us mods and most of the community now encourage smart constructive debate as opposed to simple rage and “burn it down” posting. Good people tend to stick around a lot longer when a place isn’t constantly filled with toxicity. I am legit proud of this forum because it’s full of a lot of people of varying opinions that can, on most levels, get along and produce some solid debates without relying on popcorn toxic shit-posting to get views.

Why are you surprised about the quality of content from people who are so casual that they use facebook or twitter for feedback etc.?

havent gone to facebook since highschool.
now i already work.

its just too cancerous there.

and just to add…
From my experiences with the Social Sciences, the negativity appears to be part of the system. Some one always disagrees, some times to the point of wanting “war”. The reasons may vary but it’s like there is always an opposing force. Rather interesting I think.
