If mean if like 5 people shoot like 100 dmg per person it’ll go down in a matter of a few seconds… and that’s without including any explosives and shooting the base.

i thought you can only shoot the base from the backside?

No, shooting the base’s backside is its weakpoint where it would go down the fastest. It’s only 120hp I believe?

From what I understand you can hit the generator from the front while the shield is deploying, but while it’s fully deployed it also protects the generator.

That’s what it looks like to me, too. It certainly would make the most sense.

so when deploying you can body block it and when it finished deploying you can back pedal to safety of the shield

Actually, the shield goes down pretty fast. In a 8v8 game it is a bit of a novelty to use - it will not stop if the whole team decides to gun at it. Neither can it hold back against a single Phantom who doesn’t even need to get that near to it for it to be hit by the EMP…

When it works, however, is when you manage to flank the enemy team. You set it up and start firing at their sides and backs one target at a time - you can get few kills before the enemies can rush you or take down your shield.

It can be more difficult on a 5v5 match, I suppose. I mean I can imagine it being used for effect in the narrow passages of Underground, with that Aura and Rhino slowly moving alongside the Turtle. But then again, you will have those three guys pretty close to each other and they can still be on the wrong side of the map. You can get around them - and it takes time to move the shield and the healing station - you cannot really flip them when you need them the most.

Also, one suicide dash Phantom with Nader and Fragger to finish off the straggles should be able to take care of it more or less without a hitch.

I don’t think it’s OP, You don’t need to deal with the shield: just aim your grenades, bombs and proximity mines behind it.

! Nothing here…

It doesnt seem like the big game changer they said it would be. Of the 30 pub matches i played almost no one is using him and his shield is damaged easily. If 2 people are firing its down in no time. Plus ive noticed in most of the time thers e emy playes behind sheild. That bei g said does it help yes but its agianst skilled players its no.where as usefull az if your against noobs.

@Mc1412013 funny how much i disagree. imo the shield will be all that more powerful at higher skill levels, even on pubs, where people are coordinating enough to use the shield well.

many chokes in the game can be immediately shutdown by just plonking the shield down.

im at least happy that the shield is difficult to use offensively, and so now we have a nice offensive eng (fletcher) and a defensive one (turtle)
