Turrets, please.

So it’s really nice to have turrets, but come on they only see like twenty feet and can’t look up or down? so if my turret is guarding a door from a platform above it doesn’t do anything but swivel back and forth while people run around underneath like it’s not even there plus you have to be right in front of it for it to shoot and when it does it only shoots until it swivels away again? really wow…

Light turrets are like that, but it seems like mediums are better at tracking and gatlings are even better

the advantage of a turret is far great for the defending team than the team tasked with pushing the objective. a more powerful turret may greatly increase the map time if it is easily mowing down everybody and/or is too difficult to disable. the symmetry isn’t always there to justify the “immobile teammate”. only way buffing a turret would work is if the operative class gets a buff to counter it so 3 people aren’t focusing on taking it out (they need to be doing the objectives).

i wish turrets were scrapped from the game altogether. a mobile barricade akin to the strogg shield would have fit within the scope of brink far better than a turret given the overall more confined space of brink compared to etqw.
