Turn on doublejump on one map

(frompoland) #1

Hi! I love map Srteets of Italy, but I have server with out doublejump and I wouldn’t change it. I thought to have turn on doublejump only on this map. I don’t have admin_mod and my server is based on NQ mod (1.2.0). Could you tell me how can I turn on doublejump only on one map (Streets of Italy)?

Edit: I have campaign like this: set g_gametype 4

Is it possible at all? I don’t think it is…
Want to know myself…just curious now

it is, but i don’t know how.

I think it is, using the Mapscript. Go to the maps PK3, and take out the script. Open it with notepad and add (in the game manager), ‘doublejumpcommand 0’ or whatever the command is to stop doublejump, and put this new script in ‘z_italy_noquarter_nodoublejump.pk3’ or some name, and put it on your server.

Otherwise, I think, if you have eg ETamdin mod or something, to do it from there…

@Miki: server side scripts can also be placed in the scripts folder.

In your server.cfg type:

set g_mapconfigs “mapcfg”

Then,

In your etmain folder there is a folder called map.cfg

If there isn’t, create one.

Inside there place a word document called italy (or whatever the exact map name is)

In that document type:

set g_doublejump 1
set g_doublejumpheight 1.4

That will enable double jump for just that map.

That’s how I do it, You can change anything you like in any map, whether it be messages telling people not to jump walls, jp_insanity changes or whatever.

(shagileo) #7

Just a word document ? Not a notepad document with a special extension or so  ?

And what does jp_insanity do ?

(Miki) #8

No, not a word document, just a notepad document! (and give it the extention .cfg (?))
Not in word, word will add lots of stuff that ET cannot read.

JP_insanity is from NQ. With it, you can do some ‘fun, but not realistic’ stuff. Like cam’s on bazooka’s and mortars, ‘venom mode’, … Check it out in the default noquarter configuration file.

All mine are word documents, they work fine.

I did mean wordpad btw , not microsoft word.

Yes add .cfg to the file name.

I think you might need to create a default.cfg too, but only for things that you change in your custom.cfgs

Not 100% sure on this as I haven’t touched them for quite a while.

It doesn’t matter which program you use, aslong as you save it as a .txt file. After you have it as a txt file, you rename it to what ever you want (.cfg, .script, .shader, .arena etc.)

(stealth6) #11

it does matter, people that use notepad are cooler…
(guess what i use)

Don’t you want to be cool Sage?

(-SSF-Sage) #12

I use notepad. I have used it as far as I remember and will use it in future too. However Wordpad MFC is the way to go, because my notepad many times fails doing a couple things (like placing the lines correctly). Otherwise they are basicly exactly same. So most times I use WordPad MFC.

+1. very much better than notepad, and very much simpler than notepad++ (its far too ‘advanced’ to the point its not good)

Thank you {GTB} Granny. It’s working.
