Truly faster drops with new drop rates?

(FireWorks) #1

Did anybody get event cases with less than 10 boosters now they changed the rates in week 5?

Before the boosters were widely regarded as useless unless in packs of 10. Id like to find out, if I go for the risk of buying them now whenever I can or just invest in crates instead.

What is known currently is that having anywhere between 0 and 9 boosters is literally the same, and that every time the rotation changes after a week a large amount of players receive guaranteed cases. I have gotten 3 cases myself, every single one wednesday right after 1 or 2 games. It has also made no difference if I clocked over 30 hours of playtime in a week with 7-8 boosters or under 20 hours with 1-5 boosters, and the same pattern has been observed by an abnormally high amount of players.

Yep, Ive had 68crate drops on 7boosters without ever reaching the event case…

But they had this announcement today saying that things changed… I wonder how much they actually changed.

Couldn’t have worded it better myself @Dawnrazor. As I explained in another thread I have like maybe 30 friends now on my steam who play Dirty Bomb and more than half of us have had terrible luck with boosters but all received cases in our first game of every week for at least two of the weeks so far. One of them is in a team, and in his first game with his team all 5 of them received a case in the exact same game as each other which was their first game of the new rotation.

I got a case in my first game of week 1 and week 2, then no cases in week 3 or week 4, despite playing more than 250 games in those two weeks. That was with no boosters though. But agreed on the boosters. 1-9 makes no difference, apparently 10 almost guarantees you a case.

My friend Quantum was running 7 boosters for 6 days during week 2 which totaled something like 75 games and he had no case drops what so ever, but then in his first game of week 3 he got a case.

It’s no coincidence. The boosters are not working as intended and the drop rate is not random. All these “first game of each week” cases is just not random at all. They can say otherwise if they want but we’re not idiots, and we all know something is screwed up.

Still at one case, have had 5 boosters since week 2

i have 2 boosters from the beginning, but when i saw that they are “working as intended” i started buying cases

I bought some pleb cases of W2, got some nice leads. I also got a better legendary skin in overwatch which i just started playing. Aint that RNG, eh? :stuck_out_tongue: I originally liked DB more, but value is value. :]

My drops explained at 0:15.

6 booster in, 2 weeks of daily grinding, rest of the weeks playing whenever I felt like…

AND NOTHING…

(Yoma) #10

Well, they did say that the chance increases by playing but they never told us about the fact that you need several hundreds of playtime to reach the drop through that method. So all in all they did not lie… .

“Working as intended” only states that it works as they thought of how it should work. How they make a fool out of the community with this, is an different matter.

(FireWorks) #11

Well, they posted a great explanation where it says the average player would find a case after 30 normal case drop booster.

Assuming that boosters make things faster, a lot of us should report these case drops. But we only hear reports of ppl having them at the start of an event week.

welcome to the club. Seriously, I don’t know how many matches I’ve played, but I know for sure I should already have at least 1 event case. Still 0.
As much as I love this game, I’m starting to hate events. Never had single event case drop.
