Trouble Starting Dirty Bomb

Whenever I click on the shortcut to Dirty Bomb it loads the little NGS anticheat thing then loads the desktop icon and the starting logo. Then after it loads the screen cuts to black as if it was about to load the client. But then it just cuts back to my desktop and there is no crash report. Any help would be appreciated.

What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?

Gpu: zotac gtx 960 2gb
Cpu: AMD FX-8350 Black Edition Vishera 8-Core 4.0 GHz
I tried reinstalling Dirty Bomb and the same things happen. Also tried an old fix using admin settings and cmd.

Do you have debugging mode enabled on your PC?

Start -> msconfig -> Boot -> Advanced options… -> Ensure Debug is unchecked.

Also, what OS are you using? If not windows 7, try running the game in compatibility mode for windows 7.

Next, close completely out of steam. Try launching steam as an administrator and then try to launch the game.

Yeah it was unchecked also I’m using windows 10 64 bit, and I also did run steam as an admin and launched the game. It did the same thing

Go to my documents -> my games -> unrealengine3 -> shootergame -> logs
and look at the last text file. Open it and scroll to the last and see the error message and post here. If its Ran out of virtual memory, change your page file to 8 GB.
But first, post whats in that file.

I reinstalled windows 10 and it works now… but it has REALLY BAD stuttering issues. I used to get 100+ frame rate and now I barely get 55 and it constantly stutters while maintaining the 55 fps. It makes the game almost unplayable.

Yeah game is stuttering a lot for me too. But i suppose its my hardware, coz i have very low ram ( 2 GB) and run most of the game on virtual memory. I have stuttering issues in the first match, then as it goes on, stuttering reduces. Try reducing graphics settings or use a custom ini config.i think stuttering is due to texture loading as the game saves textures in a hard disk cache file. As the game gotta load a lot of textures, it stutters, and once its loaded, no more stuttering.

Thanks for the advice. It sucks that I have to do all this to play DB again, but until the game is better optimized that’s the way it is.

I’m having a similar issue, loking at the crash file that @PlatinumCLAW suggested gives me:
Log: [NGS] - Initialising…
Log: [NGS] - Failed to initialise NGS. Error code: E1600301
Log: appRequestExit(0)
Log: [NGS] - Terminating…

as the apparent error for why it wont load. I have not installed anything or changed PC configuration since I last played DB a few days ago. Any ideas @Ardez or anyone else? Im happy to post more of the log if you think that will provide clues. Win7, 8gb ram, ssd drives, 6850 GPU (a bit old, but runs fine)

What background software do you have?

The core of NGS was used for other games. Same error code here http://forums.playpark.net/index.php?/topic/252206-ngs-initialization-error-0xe1600301/

and it appeared to be 3rd party software.

Alright guys, i found a fix for the problem. Restart your PC in SAFE MODE with network on:
http://www.digitalcitizen.life/4-ways-boot-safe-mode-windows-10

follow that link if you don’t know how to boot in safe mode.

Launch dirty bomb in safe mode, give it time it will be slow and sluggish. once it opens and your at the main menu, back out and continue to restart your PC in default(Regular) mode, and your dirty bomb should be fixed.
I’m not sure if it will work for everyone, but it worked for me, give it a try.

The safemode thing didnt work for me, game wouldnt load due to graphics drivers not loading enough. Following this and putting the DB folder as an exception into AVG solved it though.
