Trinkets giving you additional perks?

(ElDingDong) #1

I have and idea to make trinkets have some usability in game. Accompanied by the usual 3 perk per card system, why not have special trinkets to give you additional augments? Maybe a trinket store where you can buy them with real money or in game credits?

The additional augments could be slight, and it might add some depth to actual game play. Not only will this be cosmetic, it would also allow some degree of personalisation, making everyone’s merc slightly different.

It may seem pointless having this with the 3 perk system as it essentially becomes 4 perks, but the devs can be creative with this.

Edit: TL,DR- Pretty stupid idea, i was talking through my ass. Disregard this discussion
Edit 2: Easy on the dislikes, I cri everitiem

That’s a p2w territory, friend.

Yeah because loadout cards combining gameplay perks and cosmetics are SO LOVED by the community

It wouldn’t be pay to win per se. Just a thought

If SD would make trinkets to give an additional augment, they sure would put that shit behind a paywall… which would make it p2w (unless the augment is baaaaadddd… which wouldn’t be surprising tho).

Sorry but that would be an extremely bad idea, first of all 3 perks are enough imo, second that would indeed be a door to pay2win territory and on top of that, what happens to the existing trinkets? I bought a 5 dollar trinket that would basically be unusable because it doesn’t have that extra perk. Some people farmed 60 hours at Christmas time to get the last one, and same thing, unusable?

No, trinkets should never be anything else than a decoration.

It is pay2win. And pay2win sucks. So does the idea if following a logical chain.

Now that i think about it, it does sound kinda stupid

Nty, we don’t want Dirty Bomb to become pay to win. The fact you need to buy mercs and bronze loadout cards is more than enough
