I think it is a trigger that fires at the begin of the map. Give the trigger a target and it will fire that target. So if you target it to a func_explosion it gives an explosion at the beginning of the map.

I’d suggest using the mapscript to trigger stuff at the beginnings of maps instead of an entity.

Makes more sense to me, and is easier, imo.
