Traveling in water (Map realism)

(Osirin Ra) #1

okay i want to make a river in my map… at the edges i have a canyon the river travels into and it turns at this point

i want to make it so you cant travel past a certain point to avoid seeing the edge of the map and giving the illusion the river continues.

here is a except from my heightmap (nowhere near done).Tthe redline is where i dont want the player to be able to travel past, underwater or not

gray line is the actual edge of the map. I have plenty of mapping exp though there is some features i probibly should use more and dont… im NO expert, its a hobby! I just like making pretty maps for my friends/clans.

and feel free to slap me if hte answer should be obvious to me…

thats what i was thinking.

but can you run that through the water? i though overlapping brushes was a bad thing?

Clips arent REALLY brushes… just place em in the water, thats it^^

now i feel silly for asking this question… cause the answer is very obvious

Overlapping brushes is not a bid deal as long as they don’t produce z-fighting. I know this overlapping thing popped up in the community a couple of years ago but there’s actually no problem for the engine at all with them.
