Things like hints, clips, triggers and other stuff that I ought to be able to see through are opaque now, and I have no idea why or what key I accidentally pressed to do that. Anyone know how to get them back to the original translucent state?
Translucent things in Radiant have gone opaque
Sorry, this is in Radiant. This is just an annoyance - I would be VERY concerned if it was in-game!
I know that I can use filter to make them comlpetely invisible, but my problem is that they used to be translucent, ie you can see through them but not fully as their alpha channel was something like 0.5. This is not the case anymore, now they are completely opaque, and it’s annoying me. I want to see what my trigger is surrounding without having to go to the filter menu.
So I’m guessing there is no key I might’ve accidentally pressed that might’ve done this… Looks like I’ll have to fix it the hard way.
this could be simple if i’m correct and easy lol…i think it could be this:
Radiant is missing a shader file thats makes those textures translucent, or the part of the shader file script has been tampered with and doens’t have the script to make them translucent… pk3 may not have the shaders or have those shader scripts…
other similar related to this: you can make your caulk texture be an enemy territory flag…
hope this helps
The “qer_trans 0.3” (this dictates how transparent the texture will be in the editor) in the common.shader . Try checking if somehow those got messed up.
If they are fine remove all non-essential .pk3 files in your mapping et directory, maybe someone has those in their pk3. You never know, those wacky mappers
If that fails try reinstalling the ET tools, use repair.
Hope that helps.
Nope, they’re fine.

I had a look through all the pk3s and none have any indication of conflicts with common shaders.

I tried the “Clean” button in the preferences dialog, but that didn’t work either. Whats “repair”? An option in the installer perhaps?
Yeah, try to reinstalling the game without uninstalling it first (from add\remove programs), it will show you 3 options, I think one is called repair. (or something similar) It replaces the files that it installed previously. ‘Might’ work. :\
The game itself or Radiant?
…without uninstalling it first (from add\remove programs)
I’m working on Linux, anyway, so none of that “Add/Remove Programs” for me!
