Can I transfer my IOS game/progress from ipad to the chrome version? Or is there a way to backup my game progress (ipad) to my mac?

Yes.
Most everything (bux, coins, exp, etc) is based on your login ID. I switch between Chrome on 2 PC’s and an iPad all the time, no issues. It’s been awhile since I saw the Chrome install process so I don’t remember the specifics but instead of creating a new login, just use your existing ID from the iPad and the server will keep up with the rest.
You can even start a game on one platform and change platforms mid-game. The important thing to be aware of is that the game status on the server is updated when you finish a turn. So if you are at home on Chrome and start a turn but not finish it, then go the the iPad, the same turn is available there to start as well. If you finish the turn on the iPad and go back to the turn in progress on Chrome, the turn on Chrome will not be used. No big deal. It could just be confusing if you didn’t know.
