Nah, canary is epic. Also people seem to like urinate backstory.

If not this permaflooding, permadoors and buggy roof, it would have been even more fun, especially 1st objective. Had today crazy massacre games on it.

One thing I don’t like about Trainyad is the lighting on the second objective.

First objective is beautifully lit. But on the second part we’re fighting for the most part in the shade of a building. And well, this game still doesn’t does shades too well.

I’m currently playing with max graphics and I’m really struggling, especially as an attacker to idenitfy targets better.

Also for the sake of mood. It’s just an anticlimax to have a beautiful autumn evening turn into this dark grimy stuff. That building really ruins it.

train-yard is a good example of a bad map design, it has no diversity, all fights are basically on the same level(there is no reason to aim UP or DOWN). there are no separate paths because they both link to the center. after spawn it is basically run straight towards the objective

Sooo…when are we getting the other half of the map back in? The last parts, the ones that were cut, were always my favorite. I understand that you had to cut it, to polish up the first part to the game convention, were you introduced Dirty Bomb to the public. But that’s like a year ago!

I really don’t like the second objective in Trainyard. The entire fight seems to revolve around that awkward gate corner.

As offense 1st objective is often a pain you can be pwd from all sides .
I always thought that allowing to go roof of the left side building near track (mb with a ladder in the back of it) could improve this part of the map .

What could be fun there is if the story of the map would had permit it ,is a bypass objective to do : placing 2 c4 charges under the bridge (on both sides) to destroy the little bridge = if done…it bypass the Switch object .
But the problem is the train need to run on the track for final objective :rolleyes:

1st trainyard object still has one of the most annoying spawnrape extravaganza.
defenders still have high ground on both sides (i.e. both - highground AND crossfire at same place), and attackers still have only 1.5 routes to the so called obj.

MG building is still the only one place, that is fun to fight in. but like before and before and before. that building doesnt lead you anywhere near the obj.

so i suggest to

  1. put there an OBJ. primary or secondary
  2. redo the whole cross-layout where the railbridge provides only long range fight (we still have close/mid range only mercs do we? like a half of them…).
    *easy way - curve the railways make them more like “/" instead of just "_”
    **another way to do this - place the current C4 OBJ closer to the MG building, and move the attackers spawn on the opposite side. so that the attackers will have a more or less ‘safe’ route.

The window wall jump into the MG room is currently infuriating and needs to be made easier. You can argue that it’s a ‘skill based’ jump but really the wall jumping system right now is way too inconsistent to have jumps this hard. I’ve watched soooo many people struggle with this jump and waste minutes trying to make it. In general though all the maps need to be domeified and have lots of cool, useable and useful wall jumps (and no the jump up the stairs on the right side of the map doesn’t count… why the hell are the bottom of the stairs missing anyway lol)

You’re absolutely right. That entire building is just too cluttered for DB’s type of movement.

It was arguably easier when there was an actual window, now I just get stuck on the MG.

Although the worst one for me is the jump upto the balcony in the side alley next the the chapel on WC.

I meant the window on the side of the attackers not the MG hole, although ye the mg is glitchy also it’s hard to jump out from behind it

Have you tried crouch jump? I have no problems with this jump with crouch. Drawback is that when you already inside the casing of the window you are slow as hell and thus you are a sitting duck. :confused:

It took me a little while to figure out that jump, but I agree it is definitely not optimal. Some kind of ledge grab/auto-climb would help alleviate some of the problems, but would also lower the skill required for many jumps.

Proxy bounces off the wall or some other part of the window. and that often prevent her from getting into the window.
With Fragger - that is not the case. he always gets right into the window.

It’s still a pain for me to see ennemy players on some points of the maps which are too orange.
