train model and others

(ischbinz) #1

another model release

i did a few new models -
a train
a temple
few lamps

and put them together in one test-map.
just a “demo” map
not perfect - as is said just a test

but the models are quite good, as i think

here are some pictures of the models:

to see the hetzer and the the gmc in action look @ this map:
http://www.wolfmap.de/details.php?file_id=3483

the (demo-)map can be downloaded here:
around 45 mb  (it contains more modells and some textures)
including the .map file - so you can use the buildings as prefabs (if you like them)

here you can dl the models seperate:

(nUllSkillZ) #10

Great models.

(Pegazus) #11

Nice work

(Blowfish) #12

I was thinking of making a new map in the mountains, prison camp, train tunnel, train, etc… so probably I will use it:cool:

(kamikazee) #13

Hmmm, the lamp models seem to contain some anachronisms though - fluorescent lamps only became practical in 1941…

(ischbinz) #14

well - thats true maybe - i m not not -
but
i run out of ideas for some lamp models
maybe any1 have some ideas for that, and can show me some nice pix - then i could make one or 2 more models for that

(Qualmi) #15

jep the models are nice, but i have some criticism.

@train: the green texture somehow bothers me because it doesnt really fit the game imo (rather make it grey, black, metal). then sizes: the middle waggons are too tiny imo (im thinking about 6 - 8 windows) and the general look must be more consistent. it is looking too random judgin from the pics. but i think you put it together that way only for presentation, so worthless comment actually. but a train in general wouldnt look that random with so many different wagons.

but nice work. will see if i find some lamp models for inspiration.

@qualmi
you can change the colors -if you don t like them
i uses pictures to make the models -

for the waggon sizes -
the main problem is - if you make then too long - they don t fit together in curves
et is not created to make such stuff…
but the size is right:

for the last both waggons - i cannot find the website i took the photos off

about the whole train:
sure its modular - you can create your train as you wish - goods only; personal only - just use your fantasy

btw i have to add lod models for the lamps - peyote suggested me - but you can use them now - et use the lod models automatic

seems to me like pieces put together. first train, the lead train, is actually from bayern. the green ones look like they belong together, the dresden waggon is just perfect (transformed into the game).

but they all put together that way it doesnt look consistent to me. i am specifcally talking about the lead train compared to all other wagons…do i bother you ?

eh…and dont worry about curves. i think the possibilty is very low that its gotta be used in a “moving way” compared to the possibility used in in a “static way”.

edit: but you probably only made it for that purpose. actually my skills are too low to make these models in radiant…

edit2: just putting some pic in here -> http://www.panzer-modell.de/berichte/br52/f10g.jpg taken from http://images.google.de/imgres?imgurl=http://www.panzer-modell.de/berichte/br52/19g.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.panzer-modell.de/berichte/br52/br52.htm&usg=__f5FWKXJUneOU2Y4OGP6YX2iJCpQ=&h=540&w=720&sz=39&hl=de&start=178&tbnid=VTKfnZn6g2jRPM:&tbnh=105&tbnw=140&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dlampe%2Bdeutsche%2Bkireg%26gbv%3D2%26ndsp%3D18%26hl%3Dde%26sa%3DN%26start%3D162 would probably use it immediately…lamp model i couldnt find :frowning:

edit3: i think i run radiant now for that model. think it wouldnt look too bad  nah just kidding. i cant map these times because i have rl-time-substraction…
