Trade up chances

Hi everyone. I’ve gathered lots of lead loadout cards, and traded them up for mercs I like. I had a bronze BR16 loadout for Skyhammer (with -20% supply cooldown and +1 supply pack) and wanted to make a silver out of it, since I wanted a different weapon. So I made another bronze loadout for him, which was the exact same. I made another bronze which was also with BR16. Then I went ahead and traded them up (with 2 othe bronzes) aaaand got a silver with BR16 and +1 supply. I then used 3 other silver cards to make a gold and got… drum rolls golden B61 collaborative rifleman… with BR16 and the supply augments. I love the supply augments so I can do water missions, but the gun… I would have been happy with both Timmik OR M4.

Do the loadout cards used affect the chances of the new card? I.e. if I trade up 4 bronze B61s, do I get silver B61? Or is it just RNGeezus trippin’?

It’s all chance. You could trade up 4 of the same card and get something completely different. Back before you could purchase the bronze loadout you wanted you had to trade up and cross your fingers in hopes of getting the loadout you wanted.

@Amerika is there any RNG percentage though? Because I play Warframe and it’s based on farming with RNG and the Devs give a rough percentage of the drop rates.

If you want a number, I’d assume it’s just 1 out of however many there are in total. If a merc had 10 total loadouts, you’d have a 10% chance of getting the one you want. All loadouts of the same tier are the same “rarity” so it doesn’t have the same RNG factor as, say, opening a case.

Well, there are only nine loadout cards per merc. So one in nine is your chance each time you trade up. The cards you use nor the attempts made changes that.

Thank you, this means that getting 4 BR16 loadouts in a row is 1.19%. I feel special… screwed. -.-

However I opened a bronze M4 loadout Today. So I guess I’ll use my gold loadout to farm supply xp for water boy missions, and when I get more golds I’ll just make a cobalt.
