Trade System?

Is there going to be a trading system in-game soon? I would like to see if i could trade for a Obsidian Card.

There is some sort of trading system in development I believe, but you will not ever be able to get the obsidian cards from founders. They want to keep these exclusive for these people.

They did say that there might be other obsidian loadouts in the future which look different for certain events.

I believe “in development” is wrong. SD would like to implement it but they don’t really working on it already as someone said in another thread.
I still say they have to rework the card system before a trading system will be unexploitable.

It will not be soon. While the status of steam trading is unknown as far as progress the devs have quite recently said that steam trading is a long ways off.

I hope they gonna never make Obsdians a thing again, but other cards. Another obsidian promotion will destroy their rarity.

Update: To clarify for those curious. Trading is NOT BEING WORKED ON RIGHT NOW as confirmed by the devs last week on stream.

Steam community market (and trading integration) is a long while off yet. They will NOT be working on this until the game is in a stable state - ie. close to being fully released.

There is a lot of work that will have to go into it, and there are other priorities right now. Also, they have stated many times there will be no ways in future for non-founders to have access to the founder Obsidian cards. My guess is that these cards will be account-bound and completely untradable… Sorry to rain on your parade, but this is just what has been stated before :c

And @laudatoryLunch fear not! They have promised the founder obsidian cards will NEVER be given away/sold again. Those are special, and will remain special. ^.^ They are working on other types of skins right now, I believe. :3

Also, apparently another event like the Alienware one is on the way. At least that’s what MissMurder said on the stream today.

The thing with the alienware skins is that everyone that plays the game can own one. There is nothing ‘rare’ about them. I was in the stream that first started giving them out and I sat through 2 hours of bang average gameplay and a chat that was being spammed with people begging for a key, all to find out you could get them easy on the arena site. I now hate alienware that little bit more than I did before. Oh and not to mention the skin itself is pretty bland, a blue accent. Any bronze or silver card looks better.

It was well known that the alienware skins would be given away to quite a large number of people. The ones in the stream just allowed some users to get them early. AWLenard even responded, multiple times, to questions asking if there would be a large pool of codes given away and he said yes.

He provided those answers over a full week before the actual giveaway started as well.

And while no, they aren’t rare, who said they were supposed to be?

They were labelled as ‘unique’. Hardly unique when the majority of the player base has them. Also when I asked about the skins being available he refused to divulge any information and at that time I was unaware that the arena even existed. Not matter though, 2 days later I won a starter pack key in a stream so it balanced itself out.

Not exactly a majority of players, and there’s still people playing who manage to miss the fact they’re still available. Besides, unique doesn’t have to mean rare.
