Trade in/Trade up rework !

(Cletus_VanDamme) #21

I was obviously referring to the fact that many have useless, outdated cards in their inventory that would be top candidates for this scrapping system.
Well, 1/3 is certainly better than 1/9, but unless I’m missing something here you can’t buy weapon kits with credits, and despite them being in arsenal crates your odds of actually getting one from an arsenal crate will be pretty low.

So in short, I have a funny feeling that unless you get really lucky with your arsenal crate drops, going from 1/9 to 1/3 is going to require you to start spending real money on the game, otherwise there is really no change.

Tbh I’m fine with this. Can’t have everything for free, and people who don’t spend a single cent on the game but complain about not getting all the bells and whistles for free is a little silly imo.
Yeah, he said that he was going to buy kits and I was saying that increased the chance to get a loadout you want by 3x.

What do you think about the recycle yield? A new cobald needs 22.800 fragments. recycling one gives you 12.000. It is slightly better than trade in. Still, I think it is a massive destruction of value.

(arcaneCanvas) #24

is it pay2Win?

what?

Is it P2W?

yep

(Eox) #25

The trade in cost for a Cobalt today is two Cobalts : seems fair to me. But I just saw that the cost in credit has been massively raised ! 5 000 credits for a silver while it used to cost 2000 ? Just wow.

EDIT : 40 000 for a Cobalt, while the current trade up costs 10 000 credits is and the current trade up cost is 24 000 credits. This is an insanely huge raise. I hope the values will be tweaked when the update will come.

Well we need to know if it’s cheaper to get Firtrees and the new cost than the current cost for all Leads and all Trade-up costs.

Well, you skip all the costs in between from lead to iron, to bronze, to silver, to gold, to cobalt. I am too lazy to do the math.

But I still think the value for deconstructing a cobalt is too low. If you dont get a cobalt from a lucky drop or an elite case, but by just traiding it up from normal cases (mostly lead and iron with some bronze and a really rare silver in between), this just takes so much time and effort. And then losing all of this because of shitty RNG.

This made me question something as well. Will it be cheaper to trade up your leads and irons before the update to bronze, or will it be cheaper to keep them and then trade them into fragments individually? I dont know if you understand this question, my english is a bit derpy in the morning, but I’ll try to explain. Is it worth it to try to get cobalts and golds before this update drops, or is it better to wait for it to go live? Will the cost be equal to what it is now?

Edit: After I posted this I see that my question is pretty much the same as yours. At least we are wondering the same thing :stuck_out_tongue:

@stayfreshshoe @RazielWarmonic I hope someone can clarify this. I see that ‘‘some values are still being tweaked and are subject to change’’, so I guess doing the math here is hard, but I feel like they should tell us what will be cheaper. Cause like @Eox said, the raise in credits needed to get good cards seems insane, and I dont want to get robbed. This new tradein/tradeup system looks difficult enough to understand by default, so I hope this will be clarified before the update and not 2 weeks after it’s gone live ( cough ReV cough.)

Am I the only one who died a little inside when I saw them recycle a silver gen 1 card? ;-;

(Orivar) #30

Still makes no sense why you gave a post without an opinion but a video with showing a feature a disagree. Those are not dislikes. Don’t abuse the reputation system.

Ouch.

I would recommend watching the stream (and doing the math) for answers to your questions, but in summary: Exedore said, that the exact costs, which were not final on stream, will be revealed ahead of the update, so you can make up your own mind on that one. He also said that crafting overall will become a bit cheaper, which he (crypticly) formulated as ‘having rounded down the costs.’

(Nibbles02) #32

Yeah, they did say they were being a bit generous with this system and that overall crafting would be cheaper than trading, but I’m still iffy on the amount of credits it costs if they keep it that way. The current trade up costs in credits are very good, with 24,000 credits being the maximum, which is more than a regular card is from the store(17,500), but if they keep the values as they were in the stream, it would cost up to 40,000 for a single card, in addition to the fragments from your other cards(which you can thankfully recycle more effectively now, but still).

(everlovestruck) #33

As a sawbones main, I sincerely hope that they allow us to scrap SE cards

@els
Exedore said forever ago that they needed something different for Special Edition cards, and it was confirmed on stream that SE’s can’t be dusted/fragmented/scrapped, at least on launch, probably forever.

This thread has been acknowledged, but there’s been no comment about uses other than “long term goal” and “trading.”

Looks like we’re stuck with crap cards, at least for now.

(PD_Agent47) #35

I agree with that Credits cost but the Real money price of Weapon Kit is really high i think . .cause 1 weapon kit is like 5.79 euro … i saw that gold needs 5 such kits and no idea about cobalt … may be 10 weapon kits … Then just remember how much would i have to spend to select a weapon for cobalt skins … I personally think it’s high so ultimately i am gonna end up in crafting without the Weapon kits and again it’s the same old RNG with 1/9 for a merc …

(Runeforce) #36

Yep, they do charge a serious premium for reduced rng on ‘premium cards.’

So you’re going to end up paying almost 60 euro for a cobalt card… yeh, no thanks. Better off with the current system if it’s going to be that expensive

(n-x) #38

Why do they have to add RNG again? Why not just give an opportunity to get what you want for cash. It will be the same problem again. People who didnt buy elite cases because they dont want to waste their hard earned money on RNG will probably not waste their money on another RNG system. Just give us a crafting kit with which we can pick the card we want. Why do you have to make it so hard for us to give you money without having the feeling to get scammed.

(Dysfnal) #39

This is a free to play game, I have no problem with the RNG on unpaid things, such as this, though I understand your point of view, I disagree. Think of it this way. You’re playing an RPG, and there’s an area where drop chances for more valuable items are substantially higher, but you need a premium membership to access that location. It’s not that much different, and I think, if done right, this can be fair. We still don’t know the prices for the weapon kits.

(n-x) #40

The problem is, that the RNG is on something you pay real money for. Compare the 2 systems. In the old system you had the chance to purely lose virtul currency/items and thus lifetime. Or you went straight to the roulette with real money and bought elite cases.

This system just lowers the threshhold. Because it’s not that much money you have to invest and it is not completely random. That’s the hook off this thing. People probably played for months to get enough fragments. I have traded up several cobalts so far, and the pressure you feel, when there is a chance that all what you accumulated could become absolute useless within a mouse click is not pleasant. and then dangling this possibility of minimizing the risk in front of our noses is just… pick a word: unprofessional, scammy…

I am really looking forward to all the happy faces we will see here, when people lost they virtual fragments and their real life money at once. Looking back at past events with RNG included I have to say: SD + RNG, what could possibly go wrong.
