Trade In Special Event

(TepidJesus) #1

So I was looking through my inventory and I noticed that I have quite a few special edition cards that I either don’t like due to their loadout or have duplicates of.

So what I was thinking is a special event (maybe for release of turtle, as he might have “Special Contacts” that will take these special edition cards) that would allow you to trade in your special edition loadout’s for large amounts of fragments (since they are limited edition) and/or some credits to allow people to make use of the fragments that they are getting from recycling their special loadout’s.

During this special event (just to flesh it out a bit more) maybe you could get bonus fragments when trading in cards (e.g +50% Fragments) and maybe cheaper crafting costs and discounts on buying crafting kits for those wanting to spend their hard earned cash on the game.

The entire event would be based on Turtles “Special Contacts” or a sort of “Black Market” idea, that will take these limited edition cards and are willing to pay credits, as well as fragments for them. These contacts would also pay more for your cards so you get more fragments for your hard earned cards.

Please remember this I just an idea and I would be happy to hear your comments and ideas.

I’d just like to be able to trade the ranked cards i’ve had to grind days for, only to get a card for a merc i dont play, with a weapon i cant stand

Breaking down limited edition cards seems a bit pointless, surely nobody actually needs fragments at this point? I’d give my left nut (or a couple cobalts) for a Humble Bundle Proxy skin though.

@DrRageQuit Why on earth would you want the Humble Bundle Proxy card? It has abysmal augments.

Just to have, honestly. I like the skin, and really dislike most of the cobalts so why not trade them in? Theres no way i’d actually use a proxy card without flying pig in any case.

in my opinion a special card is never a useless one, it carries the memories and the history of the past events. Even if you got a card for a merc you dont use or with a weapon set you cant stand is stillsomething you can try when bored or for fun challenges. I personally would never give in one or even less recycle it for credits. You can get credits anyway but once seasons/ events ends you will never have the change to obtain special cards anymore.
My brother recived Phantom Bl52 which is fairly the shittiest first gen phantom, still that card is the only one from the CW event he obtained and now looking back is still something, considering that event wasnt so fair for people not willing to buy elite cases.
And… you know… showing off the skins to the new neebs (with love ) is always worth it

I just wanna trade or give my kid my unneaded duplicate merc cards i got doubles of mercs

That being said if your act was created after the event finished you shouldnt be able to receive the card of an event you didnt participate in. A curent level 2 shouldnt get a rev card or founders card

My kid got no rev drops so id like to give him my extra card
Also he got the colbalt culprit card i wanted and i got the one he wanted we want to switch but cant

Someone doesn’t understand the true power of Pineapple Juggler… tsk tsk. I won’t be saving your butt during the 5 man nader, Thunder, and Fragger stomp with my trust knifey-poo.

To clarify, that is one of the BEST proxy loadout cards for first generation cards. Dual smg-type weapons. Hochfir and tolen on Proxy with beckhill (not stiletto) is extremely solid. Not to mention chopper and failsafe allows you to be a RETARDEDLY aggressive mine-pancake Proxy player, going around throwing your proxy mines on people, blowing them up and stabbing the survivors. That was pretty much the only proxy card I played until I got my Humble Bundle “upgrade”.

The only gen 1 Proxy card I personally liked better than it, was the hollunds with tryhard loadout. Being able to run around with 120 hp is something I miss.

That flat upgrade of lock on over pineapple juggler made it one of the most saught after cards today… honestly, I miss pineapple juggler sometimes because it was gimmicky and crazy.

Also, there WERE other VIABLE proxy cards, I’m just saying that you’re seriously underestimating the utility and aggressiveness of that gen 1 humble bundle Proxy…
[spoiler]
These are all decent, but the ones I preferred were hollunds with tryhard, or the humble bundle loadout before gen 2 came out. Precedence for Humble Bundle card also was high because back then the D.Eagle kinda sucked, and there wasn’t a way to cancel reloading on sprinting reload characters back then either. Thus, drilled, chopper, springy, and try hard were the most sought after perks by many of the higher skill proxy players. The other thing to remember, is that engima and guardian angel also weren’t as useful until they increased their utility by upgrading enigma and adding damage reduction and making the warning noise more distinct and stereo (meaning the direction it came from was more obvious)
