Totally new to gtkradiant, can't even configure it right....

I’m new to gtkradiant and I’m totally lost. I wanna map for W:ET but I can’t configure gtkradiant right.

Installed it, OK. Engine path is d:\program files\wolfstein - enemy territory, OK. I can draw a cube and hollow it, OK. But where are the textures?? Where are the entities?? There is nothing, no textures, no entities. Does Gtkradiant comes with a map compiler? Do I need a W:ET specific compiler? Why does it crashes so much (I’m getting a bunch of errors and the only way to shut radiant down is to ctrl+ alt + del)?

Is Quark compatible with W:ET? I have it but it looks for RTCW executable, not ET.exe…

  1. textures ==> hit “t” and the texture window will pop up , to choose youre set of textures go to the menu bar ==> textures and choose a set

  2. to add an entity right click on one of the 2d views and choose one, to configure hit “n”

  3. to compile : menu bar ==> bsp : choose a compile

and when exactly is radiant crashing? when do you get these errors?

I hit “t” and see nothing, no textures.

Radiant is crashing at will.

What is “unable to read shaderscript”?

what version of radiant are you using?
hope not 1.5, better use 1.4 . im using 1.4 too cause 1.5 isnt working correctly. it screwed up the shaders for example

i never had ‘unable to read shaderscript’ error , is it when you try to load a texture?

also make sure that in the texture menu ‘show shaders’ is marked
