Topic for Ronboy's maps/ideas

Vicente is a good man and an helper.
You’re a good mapper, for you see what you’re trying to try, but I think you’re lazy

I don’t know anything about your project idea with SP but you might contact Tr3B or Eonge. They are currently working on the XReal engine and I’m helping them with converting the maps to the new level.
Maybe they also would support that project. It shouldn’t be that hard to convert the current ET stock maps to SP levels. Of course the code has to be written but since I haven’t got a clue about coding I don’t know what to do there. Still the RtCW code is released and it shouldn’t be that hard to implement that.

My 2 cents
Regards

@ etwolfmod: It’s his decision if he wants to join.

@ Eugeny: Yes, he is a good man. I appreciate his help very much.
And yes, I’m lazy. You got me.

I’m working hard on this lab map. Vicpas told me it’s too small, so I probably will need to make it bigger. But I’m still working on it.
How goes Project X?

(Eugeny) #147

Project-X temporarily stopped because doing programming of “Victors”

(ronboy) #148

Ok, good luck with the programming.

Good job! I just downloaded it.

I plan to release my new map later this month too. It is 99% done.

Thanks, W0lfman. I hope your new map will be great or better than your first map.

I played through your bunker and xlabs levels last evening. My one general remark about both of the maps is that while it may be fun to make large rooms with a lot of enemies, there needs to be some places to take cover. If not, the action becomes pretty one-sided against the player, and the game becomes a lot less fun. You might notice that in the large rooms in the official maps, there are always crates, machinery, cabinets, and so on to hide behind.

Now there were some areas where you had this. For example, the starting hallway in the bunker had some equipment that I could hide behind. But other rooms were pretty much just open. Nowhere to hide. :frowning:

Thanks for playing Operation Deathshead. I know the scaling in the bunker map is too large, but I have an explanation for that. The map was made in the year 2010, when I wasn’t good with the scaling in Rtcw. It would have been too much work to correct it, so I left it alone. I tried to fill both maps with details and cover, but there was still room for more I guess. The gameplay is quite challenging though, which makes it fun, in my opinion.
I have 2 new projects in progress now: Winter Project (Greenbrier Sequel) and a redo of my old release Hell Mappack Remake. I can promise you and all Rtcw fans that these 2 projects will be even better than Operation Deathshead.

My review of Operation Deathshead

And I finally managed to beat both levels without cheating, though it took a lot of attempts.

Btw, hint for others playing Xlabs level: once you get the dynamite, you’re supposed to plant it on the metal trap door behind the MG-42. This wasn’t entirely obvious to me at first.

Just to let everyone know, I will no longer post in this topic. I find that posting an update on my Wix website, and then sharing the link to the update is much more organized and convenient. So always remember to check my website to stay informed!
