tools good enough?

Are these tools that i have be good enough to create some really good stuff for et or do you think i need more?

Milkshape 3d 1.6.6a

Gtk Radiant et 1.3.8

Microsoft Picture It!

these are some of the main tools… model editor, map editor, texture editor…

Gtk Radiant et 1.3.8

Job’s a good’un!

Radiant really is all you need to make good maps. You only need other tools when your ideas begin to exceed what radiant can do.

I’d suggest getting easygen for terrains.

Never used MS picture it so don’t have a clue how good it is. Get paint shop pro if you’re on a budget. Or Photoshop if you have no scruples or money.

If you do have scruples, try the GIMP (www.gimp.org).

i have photoshop but i have 10 days left :frowning: , i’m on a trial version…so thats why if microsoft picture it will do… it can open .tga’s but i dont know how to alpha map it n it… ms it has lots of filters to choose like in photoshop but photoshop is much much more powerful and much more expensive…

i’m still having trouble creating my map and learning about hint brushes and detail brushes… i just dont know where to put hint brushes n’ crap… i mean i know a very basic way to do it and it works but wut about those really advanced maps cause i just cant seem to get them to work… i like making more doors with area portals in them… that also saves fps and thats what i mostly use…

…and the all-important scripts.

I have you tried setting the clock back on your computer. It is a little unscrupulous but it could extend your trial version to however long as you like. I’m not sure if this works with the photoshop trial but it does work with others

i’m not sure that will work and even if i try, it will mess up other stuff in windows registry…
