[Tools] Demos not supported

So is there a way to record first person demos?

We’ve tried recordNetDemo and have been having a lot of issues. just tried it and it gives me “command disabled”. Had someone else try it earlier this week and it allows him to record, but when he tries PlayNetDemo it tells him the command was disabled.

Am I missing something or is there not a working way to record first person demos?

Demo recording is not supported in Brink.

You do realise that when the publisher behind ET makes a ‘‘multi-player oriented game’’ everyone assumes you will have everything your sucessful title from 2003 had and more, not less.

I don’t want to start a flame war but it’s baffling that such an important feature - that every other PC team based FPS out there has - is not present.

Are there any plans to implement demo recording in the future?

No demos is going to severely hold Brink back as a serious competitive title! THIS IS BAD!!!

This basically allows anyone to cheat and there is virtually no way they can be busted.

  1. Demos can not be reviewed to determine if someone is cheating. There are no demos.
  2. Admins can not spectate players in leagues matches to watch for cheats. There is no 1st person view in spectator mode.

PS i am gonna lol if someone mentions VAC. PLEASE!!

I’ve bit my tongue with regards to many of the decisions SD have taken towards Brink, but this one takes the biscuit. Any specific reason you decided to remove a major function of the PC version?

Am I mistaken here, is this something that was taken out?? On Day 1, I did testing and was able to record a demo using RecordNetDemo. Did you guys disable this in the server update??

Please, god, bring it back.

Isn’t demo recording not being supported just the same as the developer console being “not officially supported” that doesn’t mean you can’t use it.

This better be a joke. If a recordemo function wont be included in any of the updates brink will pretty much be dead within months/weeks.

As Ian said, above, when you type “RecordNetDemo”, it returns “Command Disabled”.

Thank you for the clarifcation. ‘not supported’ and ‘not currently supported’ is a huge difference.
