Too much One Shotting

(Nervous) #1

What is going on with all the one shotting, players are, just bombing around one shotting everyone in site at full speed. You get a ting on there head and nothing.

(Mr-Penguin) #2

The only weapons that can one shot to the head are shotguns at point blank, sniper rifles, and the REVIVR. I presume you mean low TTK to the head?

(ThatRandomGuy) #3

Man, the TTK in this game is really high when compared to some other games i play(like 0.63sec body shot kills)…

Well everyone hates random lucky shotgun headshots…

You get a ting on there head and nothing. <— This made me laugh lol !

(avidCow) #4

Sometimes it’s ting ting ting and nothing. gg netcode

(Fuze) #5

That sounds right if you’re using a low damage weapon. For example, the Empire-9 takes an infinite number of shots to kill someone, but it’s really fast, so tingtingtingtingtingtingting is common to hear.

Yes, for sure. And sometimes they don’t receive damage because there’s a discrepancy between your client and the server. It just tends to stick out more when using sounds for hit detection.

(CCP115) #7

You get used to it. Depends who you play really, but regardless, all guns are hitscan and have decent damage so you can expect to be running out and take loads of damage all of a sudden (except for you know, SMGs and stuff)

(CabeRawit) #8

Everyone seem to talk about headshots, but I think what the OP meant was skills like the airstrike and grenades (hence he said “bombing”). He even mentioned that headshots do so little (“get a ting on there head and nothing”).

(Nervous) #9

Just in general, Proxy for example with a SMG just bombs about and bam your dead very quickly, even though you have landed multiple hits via a AR for example.

Grenades and arty are fine, i can cope with copping it when you miss the marker or just unlucky with position.

That’s only true in certain situations. You should look up the actual damage each gun does. Many of the guns in the game require a lot of headshots before somebody will go down. I might get 3-4 headshots in a row and still lose with them having quite a bit of HP remaining. Headshots are only double that of body shots.

What you describe only happens during the very very last little bit of damage and is typically only noticeable when sniping (which also gives you a good sense of the timing). The server doesn’t drop the headshots…it just might not agree that you were the person who got the killing blow but the sound triggered on your client. And this only happens, most of the time, when there is severe differences in pings between the two opposing players. Everything else is just you not getting the damage you thought you did.

Actually, I’m talkng about when the guy walks away with 100% health (it shows you this) and there are no medics or stations nearby. Admittedly it’s quite rare, but super annoying.

(Amerika) #12

I have over 300 hours of play and have submitted numerous bug reports. I’ve never once seen that happen. So if what you described happens then it is extremely rare.

(Ghosthree3) #13

Sounds like you get packet loss.

(Dirmagnos) #14

Im not really sure its packet, loss, tho who knows.
Even now and then i meet a guy who eats bullets like a sponge, you bring him down to like 5-10%(you can see that he has barely any hp left), then you die and guy is suddently at 30-40% on killscreen.

I thought this right after I posted. I’ve been doing tests to AUS and I get minimal jitter and loss. Would be interesting to somehow tracert to a server directly.

(expessiveGene) #16

Honestly if your complaining about the TTK this isn’t a game for you, that’s what i love about it i can 3v1 if my aim is good enough

(RuleofBooKz) #17

Ive a feeling that the animation still frame u see, of who shot u and where, after u get dropped is not to be trusted

(Aazhyd) #18

I’ve had numerous times that I moved behind cover and still got killed a moment later.
