Too much ammo?

I think maybe mercs start with too much ammo.
Maybe if you could only reload one full clip it would give the ammo support more purpose.
It would also weaken carry potential, since you can’t have a lone sniper shutting down your team, not unless they’re properly supported.
It would also present an opportunity for a new perk, where a merc will start with extra ammo.
It would at least make playing around ammo points more important. Rather than a place to go after a fight, they could become an area to fight over, somewhat.

Or maybe it would add an element of complexity that would alienate more players than it would engage.

It would just make playing with braindead Skyhammers even more frustrating. If anything, I’d love to start with even more ammo. Some weapons burn through it ridiculously fast.

honestly why bother changing the ammo.

also, perk for extra ammo is already exist and ammo points are already hotspots for fights

we also have scavenger augment to give ammo/health pack when downing an enemy

I’m pretty neutral over it. I can see the reasons why, but I can also see how annoying it would be to play with a terrible firesupport. However, any decently good player will end up needing ammo anyways. The only time firesupport mercs aren’t relevant is when your team is too bad to survive past their second clip. Firesupport mercs are already extremely important to any decent team, and I think over all it’s fine as it is.

its fine, ammo goes very fast, people /kill to get fresh mags already anyways

It’s fine the way it is. I miss the ammo crates bug giving one extra mag though. I think it lasted several weeks. And the resuplying through wall on Bridge :frowning:
If less ammo, people would just /kill more.

Too much ammo? I ALWAYS run out of ammo regardless of who I play (except fire support but that doesn’t count).
If I play sniper, I usually stay alive long enough to run out of ammo and have to refill multiple times (unless enemy has too many flankers, Naders and etc. where I have no chance against them).
If I play anything else, I usually need at least half of my magazine to get a kill so after 3-4 kills I’m already out.

Also there already is a perk which makes you spawn with an extra clip, it’s called “Spares”

It would be nice if a killed merc would drop ammo medkits without the looter augment.

Yes, I think ammo should be more important and constant concern. Maybe more space to maps and limited amount of ammo crates. You can see sometimes skyhammer mining xp in spawn only throwing ammo crates. If there would be like 3 crates per skyhammer, it would end their game. With these upgrades, I would totally agree.

I wish they could widen the area of Ammo Stations, because sometimes they feel kinda buggy. Sometimes I’d grt a mag instantly while running at breakneck speed, other times it stingily hands me a mag after I huddle near it for an hour, and by that point a Thunder had flashed all the medics in my team, Aura paid her loans, and Aimee finished a counseling session with Proxy.

Or, one team member could actually pick ammo support and, I don’t know, drop ammo. At least it’s not totally unheard of. I’ve seen it with my own eyes. It’s true! :s
