Too many vertexs in one surface?

Hi,

i just downloaded a weapon model and setup ET to use it, but when loading the map it bails out with an error ‘bla.md3 has too many vertexs for a surface (2304)’. I Think that was the error, but i can’t remember exactly now because i don’t have the file handy now. I guess this is a common problem. Is there any tool/app i can use to reduce that automatically, since i know shit about 3d modelling and cant be bothered to try to do it by hand?

And when we’re on it, what’s the maximum amount of vertices for a weapon model?

ET surfaces are limited to 1024 vertexes and 2048 triangles. A model can have several surfaces. Have your modeller break the model into 3 or more surfaces.
