todays update changed my senitivity

(capriRocket) #1

just incase anyone else feels like he lost all his aim, it could be down to that.
my setting of 3 was 50cm/360, after patch 70 cm. i set sens to 3.8 to get back to roughly 50.

already thought one day of quake at 20-30cm killed my muscle memory, nope!

Oh dear, this might explain a few things…

As a sidenote, I wish every single patch did not override some of the other settings. Suddenly having music and angry children screaming over Voice is alarming! /nitpick annoyance

If one day of playing something at a different sensitivity kills your muscle memory it’s either A. not very good in the first place or B. easy to reprogram it anyway.

(watsyurdeal) #4

I haven’t noticed a difference, then again I did just hop on the windows 10 train.

(quickMicrowave) #5

Playing for a while on one sensitivity, then feeling off when it changes…

Wouldn’t that indicate that their muscle memory is working very well as it is used to an entirely different sensitivity?

I’m no psychologist, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express.

(Ghosthree3) #6

I’m saying that playing with a different sensitivity for one day didn’t kill his muscle memory, and if it did it was shitty muscle memory anyway.

(Amerika) #7

I never went off the numbers but rather if I could do a 180 perfectly both ways. I can still do that so nothing is amiss with my setup.

(Dirmagnos) #8

It would, since you operate on basic level of reflexes. And any significant change, like roughly 20-25%, would be notable for any1 with any degree of precision.
Also, i wouldnt put much note into ghosthree comments, hes one of three ppl on this forum who has tendency to write either complete rubbish or things that would make Captain Obvious proud.

(Ghosthree3) #9

So what you’re saying is that I’m either wrong and muscle memory is reprogrammed in a single day - ie. it doesn’t even matter because he’ll just get it back in a day anyway - or that I’m completely wrong and he had amazing muscle memory that just got erased because he played with a different sensitivity for a couple of games.

Cool.

And you calling other peoples posts bad when your own are far from special is both dumb and pointless.

i may have been wrong about my sens magically changing haha.

i realized that they replaced the input ini because the added the new ADS sens option. so i guess it just defaulted to 3 and perhaps it was at 3.8 before the update.

i thought this topic would vanish to page 2 in no time so i didnt bother writing this until now.

on a side note, if you just paste your old input config into the folder you will be missing that ADS sens slider in your options, unless you add that manually to the new config file.

was a good idea to add the ADS sens option in the same patch as redeye and his high recoil rifle :stuck_out_tongue:

(Ghosthree3) #11

Thanks for sharing why, I did feel mine was different when first playing so I just typed my setsensitivity value 30s into playing to be sure.

(Faraleth) #12

Thanks for the heads up! c:

I tend to leave all games as default thought and adjust the sensitivity on my mouse… it makes it so much easier, haha!

…especially when games are dumb enough to not include mouse sensitivity in the settings! -facepalm- but yeah, I checked anyway, appears we are all good! ^.^

(Ghosthree3) #13

But scaling DPI instead of in-game is bad…

(activeClip) #14

Thats good but best way is to use inter engine calculations for exact amount like www.mouse-sensitivity.com

(misspo) #15

Very dirty i would say.

Reprogrammable, no. Disruptable, yes. Altho it depends on time and effort.
Even jumping from one game to another can screw up player feel of controls.
Depending on various factors, that are different for each game, player can “regain” control at different pace. In most cases, skipping just a few days, by not playing, may result in controls feeling not quite right for a few games, till brain recalibrates itself again.

I never implied otherwise. I know what my flaws are and that i tend to be less than friendly.
