Bump! for the fresh meat
To What other game(s) DB remind you ?
idk why but i have always a big BRINK in my head when i play DB^^
gameplay wise reminds me of every objective oriented game^^
I wish it reminded me more of ETQW infantry mode, which was definitely a step up from RTCW and ET in terms of tracking/hitbox difficulty. DB sort of makes me think of what might happen if CoD and ET had a love child maybe, because I definitely don’t feel that extreme steep slope of ETQW after not playing for long periods of time or the massive skill gap that was present in ET and ETQW. Brink really only get’s the art award in DB from me, otherwise I don’t see any similarities really… well maybe the base movement speeds.
Feels more like Brink than anything else at the moment. I play a lot of CoD (MW3 and BO2) and it definitely doesn’t feel like either (which isn’t necessarily a bad thing).
Ultimately, it is more my style of game, I just wish it played closer to RtCW. Fast pace, simple mechanics, with solid gameplay. I know it’s an alpha, but it feels really clunky playing right now and I’m not sure if they plan on addressing that or not.
Completely agree, but s/RtCW/ET
Not surprising, ET uses a different netcode than RTCW with a different antilag compensation, the registration is poor in comparison and listen to the sounds of guns (PEW PEW) and player voices haha (need steroids) - oh ET…
The only aspect of DB that feels like RTCW to me is the classes. The rest of gameplay feels like Brink, the maps unfortunately have an ET feel with all the escorts and silly EV
I don’t get what DB has in common with Brink in terms of gameplay and movement, even art is a push personally.
well, i mostly just run around emtpy maps and the game feels a lot like blacklight retribution. especially the delay from running to sprinting reminds me a lot to blacklight.
i can’t put the gunplay anywhere yet though. it’s a mix but nothing that’s solid on it’s own. i miss the “oompf” for all the weapons.

You surely not expecting a graphically revamped RTCW clone, do you? To me this game aims at RTCW, but a tweaked one, more modern and diverse, based on modern story too. They just need to fix the movement and spread/recoil, that’s all.
P.S. Loved yr and warwitches cast yesterday <3
+1; Couldn’t have said it better myself.
It reminds me of ET, but the only real similarities are the class system and objectives. Shooting and movement mechanics like CoD or ETQW if you ramped up the firing speed.
Both neglect lateral or backwards sprinting and strafe jumping. Both have ADS and large widening bullet spread. Not to mention the classes / objective system. It is somewhat like ET:QW.
Shooting interrupts sprinting in etqw, which is the same as DB.
But yeh there arent that many similarities
ETQW doesn’t neglect lateral and backwards sprinting.
It also has only partially dumbed down strafe jumping.
I feel like this game is very CoD-like, but in a good way. I also think movement is relative to CS movement, but at a much faster pace obviously. I’m loving it so far!
