I notice a lot of people complaining about Brink. It’s sort of weird to an outsider. Why on earth would you write lengthy posts about it. Trade the game in, get a refund and get on with your life. It’s ONLY A GAME.

Just my 2 cents. I can’t stand people moaning on.

people maoning here are mostly fans who want to improve the game with their “moaning”.
most people who moan here had pretty high hopes for brink, but lots of things that could have been done differently, screw the game up.
My words.
Actually I just opened a thread concerning the issue why ppl like me are still hanging around in this forum. And I’ve allways wondered if some guyshere are thinking that a forum is only there to cheer on the devs. That would be exactly as deconstructive as whining, bashing and trolling in every post.
1: I’m not happy with
2: I expected/I wanted
3: Doing this will improve it, make me happy and meet my expectations
A lot of people posting stick to sections 1 and 2, and somehow fail to deliver on 3… or are just happy whinging away and put far too much emotion into their post and not enough reasoning.
A lot of the ‘happy crew’ seem to forget that this isn’t SD’s only game, and a lot of people have been here for a while. At the end of the day, yes the whining is getting repetitive, but well you’re on a public forum, and unless SD change the rules then you’ll have to put up with complaints just as much as the complainers have to put up with the ‘happy crew’ telling you you’re wrong for having an opinion that doesn’t reflect theirs… works both ways.
Hi Tom. I can’t get a refund because I bought the game on Steam (before the “disappearing from Steam” incident that is being kept very quiet). Not only do we PC owners get a crippled console port for our money, but we can’t instantly return that crippled console port in return for the money we wasted on it.
Therefore, we unfortunately do the next best thing - we bitch and moan on the forums to the value of the money we handed over. And GBP £24.99 buys a reasonable amount of bitching and moaning, it has to be said. We do this in the hope that SD will un-cripple the game for those with a sufficient number of buttons/keys and fingers to use them, but that hope is dying along with any kind of open communication between SD and their player base.
Also - we occasionally try to be constructive and make suggestions, but these largely land on deaf ears unless they’re simple balance tweaks.
The problem is there is no more constructive criticisms of Brink, now its just good old fashion hatred. They no longer care to improve the game, they just see the faults and none of the good **** or potential

It’s a time thing, and it’s a perception thing. If you’re pretty happy with the game still, you’ll almost always have the perception that nothing constructive is offered - but I don’t hold that against you
Personally, the time for admiring and commenting on Brink’s positives seems to have passed by. You’ll find sizeable posts in the PC feedback thread (and others) from me, doing my best to suggest solutions to the most obvious problems. Since feck all has been done about most of them, including even acknowledging how broken certain things are - why would you expect people to still remain positive? I got punched in the face by problems 9/10 times playing Brink as a medic - and I’m afraid the positives simply aren’t heavy enough to outweigh that.
SD have seemingly made no attempt to address the major issues with the PC version of the game - they haven’t even acknowledged the lengthy and substantial feedback from the PC players, many of whom have been with SD since ET:QW and well beyond. We have a shiny DLC coming soon, with some “balance tweaks” and minor fixes. What of the crippled bindings situation? The DLC is new content for the most part - haven’t the tech guys been working on getting some of the lost PC players back into the game while the DLC is being created, or are they expecting two new maps and some “shiny” to bring them back? If that’s the case, they truly have lost touch with the players who flocked to their previous titles and helped make Brink development a reality. Excuse me a second, I need to remove this spit from my eye and this foot from my groin area. I’d ask you to press F and heal me, but (a) I can’t do that manually and (b) you’ll probably just change class on a nearby command post by accident and buff my armour anyway. Which I’m sure will be incredibly amusing and not frustrating in the slightest, spurning you on to try the same again, just to repeat the hilarity that ensues. Good times indeed.
…a poster gave me flak for only playing 100 hours so far of Brink. Calling a game “broken” that works as advertised is just as laughable. the key word here is “constructive”. If something works most of the time, its not broken. Broken is if it doesn’t work and needs to be fixed. Brink works and is fun. Some folk just don’t understand that Brink does plenty of things right to be “fun”. And for 99.9% of people, that’s the main goal. Fun. If its not fun you can try to voice your opinion about what would make it fun for “you”, but too many times people are quoting player counts as the measuring stick for their “opinion” as if they have a legion of gamers in their pocket. Like I tell my son, "don’t talk about the collective “we” unless you got a whole bunch of mice in your pockets. you don’t speak for everyone.
Was the lag advertised? Was the Ati performance issues advertised? Was lack of lobby and match making advertised? Corrupt saves and people losing time and effort when their chars got wiped? Do I go on? It’s the parts that don’t work and WEREN’T advertised is what annoyed people and scared them off. “Works as advertised”, now THAT’S laughable. Having you break down Brink’s inherent issues to try and better the game is like having Stevie Wonder review a silent movie… pointless.
Betas are there to catch and stop this, and no you shouldn’t assume a game won’t work for a large chunk of the player base. If you have to assume that then that means the developers are bad at their job if you expect it to not work… sigh
Not sure what a “corrupt save” is in Brink but neither my wife nor I experienced any of this.
I don’t have cancer, does that mean no one else does? Use your head please.
Yes, you do tend to actually. Please stop.

Yes, because I’m the instigator whose condescending remarks are baring down on everyone who doesn’t agree with me  No, I’ll stop when there’s no reason to reply to idiotic remarks by the likes of yourself and wolf.

you’re telling one of the most value and reasonable users here indirectly to shut up?
way to go man.
@wolfnemesis… i hand you the “ultimate brink fanboy” award.
and plz dont get offendet what i am saying now, its really not meant to be offending, but only the pc community tries to help improve the game by reporting bugs and making suggestions to make brink a better game.
console players have their game that runs “ok” for console standards. pc standards are, not necessarely higher, but different.
Funny thing is, the fanboys here are wondering why the complaining share of the community still plays the game and still posts here in this forum. The actual question should be; why in hell do all this fanboys bother with us “whiners”? Why aren’t those happy guys dont just play the §hit out of this game and consider themselfs the luckiest folks on this planet. Why are they writing in this forum when everything is all nice and shiny. Sorry, I don’t get it.
It makes no sense to mention all the good stuff in this game since thats the reason why everyone here bought this game. I don’t mention the good stuff as often as the flaws, since I don’t want the good stuff to be improved, but the flaws and drawbacks. Makes sense somehoew, didn’t it. And yeah Brink has still many good sides and they are the reason why I’m still here and why I want so desperately that SD improves all the bad stuff. Thats why I’m posting my suggestions, my problems and my wishes. Makes sense, didn’t it?
By all means list the flaws and your personal concerns and everything else, but when every single thread on this board gets bombarded with nothing but hatred then there is a problem. You can’t even say that they are ignoring us because IIRC the PC has already gotten a MAJOR overhaul, along with a half dozen minor ones, and you still bitch and moan that they aren’t doing **** and they are ignoring you, that bull****.
Given the fixes that have already occurred covering everything from the lag on the consoles to the end game chat for PC as well as the weapon tweaks and much more, you can’t possibly believe anyone will take you seriously when you say they are ignoring the concerns of the community. So they don’t respond to each and every thread, hell, each and every thread ends up the same, bickering and bitching and moaning, I wouldn’t respond either. I would rather have them continue to work on the game then spend their time responding to every post here.
Now I know what your thinking; " If they just keep us updated we wouldn’t bitch." Ya, thats bull****. Even if they did post updates people would still complain, they always have they always will, weather we hear from SD or not, haters gonna hate.
TL;DR
I will continue to enjoy the game and laugh at the haters. Have fun!

What the…? I never said SD forgot us or crap like that. And I’m no "“hater”"only because I write some posts about my experiences and concerns. And if you have the time of your life by laughing over me, ok fine ?!? The tone of your whole post credits you as a troll and a little insane anyway. Don’t forget to take your pills or hit your forehead against the next best wall. It will relief you.
I don’t really need to say any more about that point do I?
Nobody ever said “everyone who bought the game hates it” - however, the Steam stats site clearly shows a 97% drop in players since launch. When it comes to the PC market, I think that figure speaks for itself really. Although that’s a nice thing to teach your son, I really don’t see where you’re going with it, in this context.
