Have they even though hey maybe Proxy/Bushwacker/Fletcher defuse timer is probably way too fast making it too hard for attackers when they can literally just suicide defuse 3-4 times to stop the C4. Nope seen nothing on that.

How Vasilli can gib you from across the map. (BUT BUT ITS HARD TO DO REQUIRES SKILLZ) Don’t care its zero risk to large reward.

How Flecture has either a ridiculous cooldown or holds way too many sticky bombs for quick gibs at range. Meanwhile Fragger has to wait up to 3 seconds before his grenade will explode on contact.

Bushwacker’s turret being able to turn 360 degrees so it has zero blindspots making it far too powerful when everyone else equipment can be spotted and destroyed without taking damage.

But Phantom had to get all the nerfs even when clear counters were present. AKA the SHOTGUN, Rhino, Fragger, Combo Vassili sensor…

Phantom radically changed game play. Nobody wanted to play a support class, as those classes became Phantom bait. Dirty Bomb turned into deathmatch with objectives. Why bother with teamwork when you can get a 16/3 kill ratio?

What up guys im on a vacation and i havent really had the time to check what’s been goin on with dirty bomb so can some1 tell me what this nerf with phantom’s all about. And i’m a bit new to the game and have only about 4 hours but i’m saving up for phantom. And before i tough that phantom’s a bit op but i hope he aint over nerfed as some people say.

My first game with Phantom, went 76/22 with 20044 points, and I was not against a really bad team. I had a lot of fun playing him because I like the flanking playstyle. The only real thing who made it a bit hard was the melee turning speed (which is annoying with all classes) but I was using my SMG more than the katana so it didn’t affect me too much. Still, the problem with the melee will be fixed (I think). Haven’t had a lot of problems encoutering Phantoms pre-patch and even post-patch, so I never understood all the hate against him. I don’t find him as useless as people say post-patch, I always aimed at the medics, camping Vassilis and Engineers defusing the C4 and sometimes saved my team. But I understand the point that some of these things you can do with another class (Vassili headshot, Fragger Grenade,etc).

I don’t get it? Clearly you steamrolled the other team in both games…especially on the second picture. Two people remaining.
You say you did good but it was just the other team who was full of really bad people.

Both games were filled to the brim, including the second picture. I just to took it late after people had already left the game due to it’s completion :slight_smile: If it had just been two people it would have been rather hard to get a good score. So, with that cleared up…

Possible? Who knows but it’s not the first (or has it been the last) I’ve done really good, all against various people. I’d like to think I was just having a good game, instead of insulting the entirity of the other team and the real point was: People were crying he’s useless and you can’t do shit with him.

I was proving them wrong. o-o. S’all.

Phantom is actually really fun now that I’ve given him a spin on free day. He’s far from broken, and could just use a bit more tweaking to really be viable. The thing is, his role as basic disruption and chaos bringer has no place in competitive due to how critical each role has to be; he is a pub smashing tool.

Standing still while the fresh spawn wave runs past you is the proper way of using cloak. Escaping chokepoints and sneaking by the sides is also viable, but not as useful, perhaps just to tank damage and avoid the red glow you give out normally. Opening with it against a good player is also really useful if you have the time to put it up as it gives you the time to aim and line up a good burst into their head.

He has no objective potential (apart from picking off lone engis on the EV) and in general is terminally useless anywhere near his teammates. The best way to damage the enemy team is simply gunning everyone down. If he is to have a real purpose then simply give him the ability to spot every single enemy in his LOS for 5 seconds with a 15 second cooldown. That E key is unused and this would actually give him some teamplay aspect.

I think the proper way to rebuff him is to bring him back to 120 HP and add the spotting tool from above. Also, remove the stupid turn limit. It accomplishes nothing.

I think only the meelee slowdown and highly reduced time to hit makes the class not fun to play anymore compared to other classes. It’s highly frustrating when in your screen you are hitting the character but in reality it just goes though. Pretty unrealistic and I think it’s wrong to say the change now requires you to aim better when using it. Ideally, when your aim and reaction is perfect you would launch the attack slightly before and move it in place with your aim. Now good reaction makes you miss as you have launched the attach too early. If hitting too many people with one swing is the problem there could rather be a limit to that than the horrible slowdown and unrealistic hitboxing.

i think the nerf to the turn speed was not needed. it’s not just a nerf to phantom but it makes it maddening to try to melee with any character. i don’t mind any of the other nerfs i can still sneak up on people just as easy. but people can evade the melee attacks so easily and then trying to chase them down if they run behind you is worse than nails on a chalk board. i really like the character and hope the turn speed is reworked because as is i want to break my mouse everytime i try to stab someone and they side step me. I don’t mind the fact that i missed but trying to turn to kill them is frustrating.

sorry i really loved this character but the turn speed thing makes you just shoot most of the time and i can do that much better with other characters

To be honest i’m trying out Phantom on the free rotation and i’m diggin him and acctualy starting to love him but i’m still saving up for him and i’m not like the ussual phantoms who’d just go for kills and thats all i revive players always when i have the chance and on bridge i snuk up grabed a the 2 drug samples and delivered them but i had to give my life to the cause to end the match. 2 bad that we don’t see a lot of people who give ammo or revive u or jusr rnt asshole which say that they don’t wanna rev u. But it’s good there’s some cool guys who do those things.
