To: Burst Rifle Haters

So I have been seeing several of you guys mad at Burst rifles lately. Several posts and what not. So this is what I have to say: (by the way, I ctrl+c ctrl+v my comment from one of these posts about nerfing burst rifles and the comments I refer to are from that post.)

Here is my essay, enjoy.

"Lol. Most of you want to nerf weapons whenever you get wrecked by it. Burst rifles are rewarding to players with good aim. And if yours isnt that great, guess what? You deserve to get wrecked. Its always like that. Nerf burst rifles, nerf shotguns, nerf m4, nerf PDP, nerf …PLS. Have you tried to use burst rifles? Try it, and if you suddenly start wrecking everybody else and you are on top of the scoreboard, then let us know. Because prob your aim isnt that great when always willing to nerf whatever weapon you got killed with.

Burst rifles are in a state that shouldnt be nerfed or buffed. Nerfing will make it useless and too weak compared to timik and m4 and dreiss and grandeur and …A buff isnt the way to go as well because it would surpass the rest. Its good where it. Those delays between bursts and shots is a huge con. I guarantee that when any noob sees others using burst rifles and tries to copy them, his aim is even worse. The weapon may be used by majority, but that means it needs a nerf right? RIGHT. Great logic my friend. There is always a trend going on, to nerf whatever weapon. Hold ur horses.

I mean, LOOK at the reasons that you guys are giving, seriously. “Make it harder to use.” “more recoil and dmg fall off” “weapon abused by majority” “noobs win gunfights with terrible aim” OHH, and “increase burst delay”

Noobs win gunfights with terrible aim huh? Im pretty sure you got wrecked by lower level players and assum that their aim is terrible and ur acting salty.

With all of these reasons and suggestions, might as well use a knife. After your guys suggestions, I guess punches would be stronger. I mean, dmg fall off? Snipers get wrecked? They should if they get killed from a distance. So no weapon should be able to reach snipers right? RIGHTTT. So, snipers become invincible right? RIGGGHT. Increase burst delay? Really? SKIP.

And in the other hand as well, m4 and timik are sufficient to wreck players with burst rifles, it all depends on skill. Strafe and aim. So, think about it. Do you really need to ruin the weapon, or is it just you mad?"

Yea come back once you know what you’re talking about, I can drop players like twitch.tv/lightningzor even though his aim is way better just by using the stark, burst rifles require little aim and skill.

I once even rekt an m4 fragger an enture match with a blish sawbones, he goes br16 kira next match and I can barely even damage him anymore because of the insanely low ttk.

You understand that the burst rifles are supposed to be the perfect skill/reward combo. Right now(especially the br) skill<reward. No matter how many of your shots hit against a player, the bursts are able to wreck you at most ranges. This means they are abused by all high level players and are unstoppable in the right hands. Does this sound OP. It sure does. I bet you haven’t even encountered one of those lvl80+ guys with insane aim that just wreck you as soon as you come within sight of them, even if you are a sniper. These players just gravitate toward the burst rifles, which makes me think they are unfair. They really are too easy to use for how much damage output they have.

burst rifles just dont have any weakness atm.

highest DPS apart from minigun, great range, amazing accuracy, frontloaded damage.

there is no scenario where a non-burst assault rifle would do better

thats not necessarily true, if someone has 10hp you still have to spend 3bullets. or if you are gibbing the opponents, tends to be pretty wasteful

Again, these damn nuts that only consider someone’s skill without even searching for gun stats.

Do I even have to prove myself how good I am, and how much I’ve been using this gun?

Do I fxcking have to take how much kills/min I get just by using Stark or BR.

What do you guys need more, when you are only able to speak ‘git gud’ to the others every fxcking time.

If you also think I’m just a random pub guy in this forum, come visit Asia server.

Then you’ll be able to taste how deadly pro player + burst rifle is.

Please, come and be my delicious score and help me boost up my Stark kills/min.

I have 4.4kills/min with it, so you can help me with reaching 4.5 can’t you?

Burst rifles should be BETTER, but NOT OVERPOWERED. There’s a difference.

Plus, they’re really not that hard to aim with… In fact I find their spread and recoil to be far more manageable than the M4, Timik, K-121 and MK46.

Heres an easy guide on how to use a burst rifle :

  1. Get any charactar that has a burst rifle weapon.
  2. Find an enemy.
  3. Spam the fire button.
  4. Watch them die
  5. Continue.

The burstrifles are OP if you know how to use them, in the right hands, a burst rifle can be a torture chamber. You might just want to get a Kira with the katana and just go wild to the enemy, but hey, if you get killed by a low player, then that’s your fault, maybe you played to much and got to much adrenaline, take a break, do some exercises or eat something.

What’s crazy, is that when I started this game, the M4 was the king of assaults… or at least recoil and aim wise, it felt better than the hochfir at the time. After using bursts, Dreiss, and the hochfir (to improve my aim, since it’s one of the lowest dps, yet highest aim rewarding weapons) and many patches later, for some reason the timik actually feels MORE controllable and deadly than the m4, is there a reason for this? Did at some point the M4 become weaker than the timik recoil and spread wise?

This guy also clearly never played black ops 2 with the quad shot burst rifle. THAT gun was OP. Imagine if the BR16 was a quad shot rather than a triple. The issue with that gun was that it was an instant kill on anyone you looked at, body shot alone. All of the bursts in this game can kill proxy level hp and below with a triple ding. Would you be asking for a nerf then?

Bursts are powerful in game, and they also are irl, but you’re missing the main point of what people primarily say regarding burst rifles. Since this IS a competitive game, Burst’s ttk is too short compared to other weapons, for any player that’s able to aim somewhat decently. And I, for the most part, agree that this damage should be mitigated somewhat, or somehow.

@Xenithos you talking about the.m8a1?Yeah that gun was strong, but it had a very long burst delay, and easily locked up. Perhaps this is the way forward with the burst rifles, increasing the burst delay, reducing spamminess?

Even tough i meet lots of players salting when i kill them, with a katana, with revive gun or even with the kawaii beam. I just enjoy how they rage and say like: “That lazer is bullsh*t, just remove it from the game” or even “Yeah, goodjob Nexon, give the katana 60 fcking damage on the left click so it can 2 shot 120 mercs, and also give it insane fcking range” those players make me wanna die for asphyxiation. But hey, if you really take them seriously, then i have no words.
