Tipping player

So, assuming that DB will use a conventional F2P system where players buy currency (“gold”) in order to purchase in-game content.

This system would lend itself perfectly for this growing ‘tipping culture’ among social media.

It would be as simple as a player saying in chat ‘230 gold to Ashog’ and Ashog would immediately receive 230 gold to do whatever he wants with.

This means that tips will provide an extra layer of social interaction. You can ‘tip’ players for beating you, or for getting you out of nasty situations. You could give a ‘round’ of tips to your team or to the entire server after a good game played.

And the whole thing could be used as price money for tournaments.

It would be awesome to have these kinds of ‘player on player’ transactions, preferably directly in-game but also outside, in lobbies or chat channels. Apart from extra social glue it would also be more ways to spend your gold and thus more ways to buy gold for the game. Perfect.

and introduce a betting system, like GTA V Online

(Glottis-3D) #4

and is this system gonna work only with Ashog, or with some other players also?

Great idea! …many possibilities .

Would be a nice feature for match spectators or giving something to your favourite streamer.

Could be both but it’s irrelevant. The only player people will ever want to tip is Ashog.

Ah but there we can do something even cooler. Dogecoin is soon going to be used for TwitchTV, people can tip anyone in the chat. TwitchTV is purchased by Google and Google as well is looking to integrate Dogecoin into Google plus. All of this is still under wraps but that’s where Dogecoin is heading should it survive it’s network problems.

Nexon, or Splashdamage can do two things now:

  • Integrate Dogecoin (IF it survives) into it’s game. Being the first major game to do that (and stealing Blizzard’s thunder) would generate a lot of exposure.

  • Get TwitchTV to accept Dirtybomb’s currency into it’s chat. That would also set a new precedent of Twitch being directly involved with the economic ecoysystem of a game.

Or both of course. Either way, I seriously believe ‘tipping’ is going to be the next step in social media, including multiplayer games.
