more time is needed after a map is voted on in the lobby to select mercs for the game, there is barely time to select one and as each amp has different characteristics it is important to be able to use appropriate mercs.

The time to choose a merc is kind of fine but the voting time is definitely too short. What’s weird is you can change your squad during the vote time which really makes me wonder why they don’t extend voting time while lowing the time you can change your mercs.

but you need to know the map to pick the right mercs. Picking them before the map has been decided is not that useful.

Not really. All mercs have uses on each map. If you can’t use the merc in your squad on any map then you either need to rethink your squads or rethink your strategies.

I would like to see the map voting timer be extended. Often on a heavily populated server only 2 or 3 people even vote. Need to allow more time for others to chip in on the decision. The time allowed to switch mercs after this should be lowered.

I don´t think increasing map voting timer would increase the number of votes. It´s the same in most online games. Not many players vote for maps.
I do agree about selection of mercs need more time though. You kinda have to start choosing your mercs during map voting phase. But if votes are 2 for underground and 2 for chapel you can´t really do that either. If there was an option to set a default loadouts for your mercs that would significantly reduce the time it takes to select your mercs.

The bigger issue is that the UI is still very slow. If the UI was capable of going as fast a person can select things, neither the map vote nor merc selection would be difficult.
