time between matches, respawn times, auto-balance

well, first, i know the map load/time between matches time was dropped, alot of us IN GAME have been saying we wish it gaveus time to grab a drink or use the toilet…also, the number of people dropping on new map load is amazing, its only happened to me once or twice and i think my net was bugged, (reset modem just incase), im not sure if something else was tweaked that could cause this but, i figured it was worth reporting and commenting on, dosnt need a hugely long break between, but a if you could make the spawn in time after maps picked long enough that everybody pre-buffers/pre-loads the map, it would also give us time to change our merc loadout to fit the map(i dont vassili on underground for example)

also i dont know if this is intended but, some of the onsalught servers at least, have drastically longer respawn times then others, and its…jarring, honestly the shorter times seem to make for better games…(and i have seen the opposite in a few other games so…)

the biggist thing, the auto shuffle/balance before match…would be good on non-full servers to shuffle just before the explanation of the mission, the current balance dosnt work well im sorry to say…2/3-3/4 of matches are just stomps/steamrolls/goatroaps … some suggestions i would make that shouldnt be to hard to script in unreal(we did it with ut2k4 mods using mutators) is if the game is to one sided, or teams are out of balance by more then 1 player, it auto balances the teams, so for example on bridge if the EV gets repaired to quickly and is 1/4 the way to the objective, within X time, it auto shuffles or if the attacking team cant get out of their spawn and repair the ev within X time, it auto shuffles.

some may not like this idea but, since i realized how bad it was…in game we have talked about it alot, me and random players…and its pretty much agreed that even a random shuffle would likely work better then the way things are functioning now most matches…this could be because of servers having to re-fill up many maps so the balance is off, it could be because people change teams when tey see their team loosing…when possible…whatever it is…i think it could be helped drastically by an auto shuffle setup that would at least attempt to keep the game moving and competitive.

note: i get as frustrated being on the winning team in those situations as when im on the loosing team…dont know how anybody can have fun when theres no challange…:confused:

i really do love db…and i gotta say the tone and feel of these forums is just…worlds better then the DB main/official forums hosted by nexon…really amazingly better…

i know what you mean but auto-shuffle because an objective got completed fast is a terrible idea. It destroys any incentive to finish the obj fast. sometimes, in balanced teams, attackers get a great push going and shuffling the team afterwards would feel awful.

there are other ways to balance the teams, I agree that there should be bigger emphasis on warmup and allowing people to fill-up the server, before forming balanced teams.

First objective usually gets completed fast when there are 2 players connected, one poor guy defending and 5 people still loading the map. By the time server fills and people are actually present, half the map is already done. Matches start way too fast these days. The shuffle inside lobby is completely useless when half the server quits between maps, it shuffles 8 people, then 2 out of those balanced players leave after the shuffle when they see the levels of their opponents leaving it extremely unbalanced. Match starts, and the rest of the connecting players are being put into teams completely randomly without any kind of balance in mind. Map ends in a steamroll, people are disappointed of the server and leave after the map to find a ‘better server’ that does not exist. And it all starts again.

Cut half of the lobby waiting time out and use that for a warm-up instead.

honestly i get why it would seem like a horrible idea, but, i think it would help, also, a longer “pre-game” in game, perhaps have it 3-5min and let people tdm or whatever (kill time) till everybody is loaded in, then, start the actual objective driven missions.

not optimal but, this steamroll/curbstomp/goatroap **** needs to be addressed, anybody whos played more then a few rounds knows the auto-balance isnt working…

also the same kinda setup should be applied to stopwatch.

could be worse but. could be alot better to…

i really like this game but, its got some really serious balance issues mostly based on teams.

oh and med gun needs a nerf, this from guy who uses it a good bit…just way to easy to get kills, its more leathal then the sniper rifle int he right hands…
