I love thunder now with the movement speed debuff added to his concussion grenades. But is he too strong now with his buffed conc nades and HP?
I’d like to have some decent conversations, so please tell me your thoughts.
Thunder too strong now?
The conc nades need to be given the same fuse as the frags and be made cookable. The concs atm are too easy to use for the reward they give. Every thunder is essentially a stoker that panic molys when they start losing a 1v1. Making them have a fuse allows for counterplay, you know to back up when a fragger stops shooting but thunder can crap out a conc in an instant without warning.
That’s the thing I keep suggesting. Introducing cooking back in concussion grenades would just solve all the balance issues Thunder has right now, without removing his status of strong merc.

However he also needs the counting like Fragger has if they want to do that thing properly.
I still say the Flashbang effect should be removed.
That’s such a pointless addition on top of the slowing effect.
IMO thunder is not strong because of the effects of the concussion. I believe they are fine( but i wish they would bring back the emp). it is the fact that there is no counter-play to thunder. He needs cooking. This would be a buff and a nerf as people would be able to tell if a thunder is about to throw a conc but thunder can perfectly place where the grenades need to go though he is useless against healing stations now (which i hate), and fragger and nader still are ,so it puts him in a place. But due to the fact that the emp is gone the whole idea of thunder being the best merc in the game for leading a push against an enemy base is completly gone. As i have said before, increase fuse timer, bring back cooking, lower radius, bring back emp. increase cooldown to 20 secs. Its that simple.
I agree with @Watsyurdeal so long as they bring back the mouse movement debuff or some sort of accuracy debuff when affected by the grenade, maybe increasing gun spread to max when hit and lock away the ability to aim down sights or something like the Fortress Forever concussion grenades. When hit by these the crossairs and gun swivel around in a spiral fashion, not only making the gun shoot off center but also the center to not have the crossairs on them.
The blurred/gray vision the concussion blast is enough to confuse players without giving them cataracts since they’ll normally see more darker colors that just white and it wouldn’t be as hit or miss as how the flashbang works since one just needs to be hit by the grenade, also think the mk46 is too headshot/aiming down sights dependant and needs more damage or accuracy at the price of less ammo or just a total of 100 shots per mag.
170 HP with great weapons makes him dumb like old Fragger. I guess I could go for 155-160 but leaving his nades this powerful (though I feel like they have consistency issues and often flash you from odd angles or behind cover so maybe look at that in case it’s not just lag).
My thoughts: Remove the flash, keep the concussion, bring back the emp. Take the emp off phantom and give him literally anything else and his old cooldown.
he is more annoying than strong, phantom is better at destroying aura camps, fragger is still stronger, thunder needs team behind be useful, without team he is just killing shit but cant do push like nader/fragger
and tell my why the fuck everyone wants mk46 buff ?!? like that weapon is bad or what?
They should just remove or reduce the flash effect, give mercs affected a fighting chance, but a severe disadvantage. Lower movement speed makes fighting a high health merc even more difficult
I think his health is in a nice spot right now, given his insanely slow movement speed.
But I think they’ve taken the concussion grenade a little far.
The slowing effect lasts a little too long given the grenades short cool down. I reckon either reduce the slowing effect by 2 seconds or so, or leave it how it is and increase the grenades cool down by 3-4 seconds.
