Thread for new undocumented changes! (and maybe bugs)

I guess you can add bugs since SD is very not transparent about what is a bug and what isn’t. Case in point: half XP for gibbing. Though I suppose you can just report it at the Bug Megathread, this thread is for ‘positive’ and ‘neutral’ changes as well.

  • All mercs on free rotation properly indicated, including owned mercs (none before)
  • First ammo crate in Dockyard (side ramp bloc) is rotated by 90°
  • (possible bug) XP deduction for suicide is in place. Apparently is 100% of your current health.
  • (possible bug) Arty’s strikes ‘charge’ time is significantly reduced. If you aren’t careful you will end up calling two strikes at once.
  • System will announce in chat: ‘Team is inbalanced by X players.’
  • Someone managed to datamine a new deployable called ‘Deployable Cover.’ It is suspected that this is Turtle’s shields’ redesign. See it in action.
  • (bug) Bushwhacker’s turret can cause friendly fire even in non-FF servers. Friendly fire from Proxy mines (and possibly Fletcher’s sticky but unconfirmed/not yet reported) has also been observed.

Will add more if people can find them.

You now get -xp for suiciding, that has to be one of the most idiotic changes ever made and shows how little the devs know their own game.

@nokiII the -xp for suicide was always there.

the people who are quick to /kill are presumably also the same crowd who doesnt give a damn about xp. you had an extra death counted in W:ET as well

wasn’t there a difference between suiciding when getting shot or damaged, and when you are on full health?

Pretty sure that -xp was there before although I never really paid attention to it. Either way they should figure out how they want their wave based spawn system to work and reward/punish people accordingly. Right now the best way to play if you want to win does involve suiciding regularly at the competitive level but while you’re rewarded with the win, you’re punished on the scoreboard. Either keep the xp punishment and make it so suiciding isn’t objectively the best thing to do when the timer is low and you’re in a bad position/want to switch mercs or keep the spawn system as is and remove the xp punishment. Main thing is to be consistent with what you reward and what you punish.

Always been there but it doesnt always deduct

It never deducted since open beta, maybe it was different before that. I guess I need to go and watch some old recordings to prove it to you guys…

@Szakalot @Mc1412013 For further clarification, I’m talking about -xp when you press the K button, not when you inflict damage on yourself with a granade or mine.

Edit: “I’ve” found footage of someone k’ing out and not getting a penalty pre patch: https://youtu.be/Hs6gFU-XSeQ

dont know what to tell you, i guess it wasnt there at the beginning of the game?

i thought phrasing it as /kill was pretty self explanatory

edit: is it possible to turn off all xp announcements? maybe thats why

There’s never been -xp for tapping out to not get long spawned, don’t know what game all the people on this thread have been playing…

i shot a proxy mine and it killed a proxy and a sparks

Gato shot an enemy mine and it killed the enemy proxy and myself playing sparks. Wasn’t a deliberate teamkill or anything like that. There’s something weird with FF atm, witnessed from the few pubs I’ve played and Cletus’s earlier post about the friendly Bushwacker turret doing team damage.

That’s a strange one… I will check it later. I can also confirm K’ing out does not deduct XP pre-patch.

i experienced it more today, but only from proxy mines

an aura shot my mine and my whole team died because the mine in public match

Fixed various bugs related to XP being awarded incorrectly for some minor actions

Isn’t that related to that so called “undocumented change to suicide xp” ? I’m almost sure it is.

Anyway, if it wasn’t, did any of you just considered the fact that it could actually be a new bug ? It could be a good idea to treat that as a bug and report it accordingly. You won’t be punished if it’s actually not a bug.
